New XML's at DX driven at 2,8 A

This was the previous model, driven at 1,8 A

And now they have these two, driven at 2,8 A!

kaidomain also has a new solarforce with xml dor only $23

http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=11150

To bad kaidomain doesn't state the output on their flashlight..

What do you guys think about the 1,8 -> 2,8 A upgrade?

Many 1800mA claims showed much higher currents in real. I don't think they would have been limited at 1800mA in real. Maybe 1800mA at 3.7V but 2800mA at 4.2V?

My C8 driven with 8*7135 chips draw something like 2.6A at 4.2V measured with a crappy multimeter. And three minutes is more than enough for C8 body to get hot. I don't know how long will a one mode L2 flashlight can survive.

Does it really matter that KD does not state the output of their flashlights?

Shopping at DX §2:

Never ever trust the specifications given on the product page, this includes stuff such as mode arrangement, LED current and type, regulation type, anodizing type, runtime, mode spacing and much more. The item weight and dimension found on the product page may be with or whithout the products packaging. The specs are more than likely just made up on the spot and this is especially true for flashlight specs. Bare LEDs may be the exeption to the rule though (I hope!)...

Shopping at DX §3:

Never ever trust the stock indicator. It is, like the cake, a lie or if you are a bit more diplomatic "an estimation".

In stock means: we may have it in stock and if we don't then our supplier may have it in stock.

Temporary stock shortage: will get it back in stock in one to eight weeks.

Temporarily sold out: 95% certainty that it is sold out forever.

Am I to harsh? I love DX btw, just wish they'd be a bit more honest and upfront...

That "Solarforce" at KD is defnitely fake. I don't know why Low isn't a mode on a light. That is one reason I've never gotten a Romisen.

Who really trust in the specifications? do you really think they are driven at 2,8? and do you really think the old one is driven at only 1,8A?

The one at kd (not the "fake" solarforce but the one thats been reviewed here by flashpilot (the c8 xml t6) is driven at 2,98 A by his measurments!

I meant about DX specifications

Ow well you're right about that. With dx everything is uncertain... exept their low price :p

Not buying another Eastward ....

i've never had one, but usually read good things about them. yours was bad, huh?

I'm 100% pleased with mine .. no reason to be peeved at eastward when it's DX that is jerking everyone around .

Living in california ..i assume eastward is a viable option ..Westward is just takin a bath..or surfin'

Not impressed ...

i came from more eastward, wisconsin most of my life, where i'm sure the weather is just delightful right now. where are you?
