Sky Lumen Nguyen Flashlight

Are you saying that the light engines can be swapped like P60?

Yes. The user can swap light engines anytime they want. Future upgrades to the light engine or to replace with a new one is a breeze.

I watched all the tests and I was impressed. However, JamesB is right: how can I know if other lights would pass the same tests? Also Acebeam, Thrunite, Zebralight, etc. produce lights that seem very robust and resistant. Without the possibility of comparations I can only say that this light is really reliable and of excellent quality and that I would buy it without any doubts. But I cannot say with absolute certainty that it is better than the others lights. On the other hand, this was not Vinh’s intention.

I’m curious how the light engines connect to the host? Is it threaded in? Any pics? I hope the heat transfer will be much better than the P60 that has a big air gap between the pill and the host. Also any chance of copper pills for better heat transfer?

I will have details before launch but as you can see from my Heat Test 2 heat is transfer very well. Light heat up instantly & the readings climb instantly. This is also evident by the 4000L Quad White 2 LED set up indicating that there is very good electrical contacts as well. Multi emitter light engines are solid copper. 12LED light engine gets the most copper…

I don’t think this is 100% MADE IN USA!! I see other pictures of light and you used made in China parts

Not to mention you are using mtnelectronics as a supplier for this light and we all know that mtnelectonic is using made in China electronics!!

I think it’s better to buy Oveready Boss than this one because Oveready Boss is 100% made in USA and Russia and the quality of Oveready is above and beyond anything else in the market

not to mention you are going to ask ridiculous amount of money for it !!!!

It’s not worth it at all

Just think about it for a second if he takes 150-200$ for a light that cost 20$ shipped for just changing the led!!??

how much this one will cost and you know it’s not 100% made in USA

It’s better to be safe than sorry..

I guess you are not in anymore…hahah

Not sure why you sound so bitter but I am sure everyone here are fully capable of making their own informed decision. Thanks for your input.

Please. Weren’t you the guy crying about people commenting in your sales thread.

You may have a (small) point, but there are better ways to have a conversation dude.

Almost nothing is 100% made in any single country these days. Even Chinese brands like Huawei and OnePlus have components from USA, Korea, Japan, UK, etc. Skylumen is a USA brand and this light is 100% USA design and almost entirely USA made with maybe a few parts from China and this to me makes it special enough. Also made in China does not mean it’s bad. Apple products are made in China yet it’s quality and reliability is second to none. Even Samsung and Sony can’t come close to Apple products in reliability. Some cheapo low tier Chinese manufacturers gives China manufacturing a bad rep but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Use a larger and more reputable shop in China and you get quality to match. Tim Cook said the reason Apple can’t move manufacturing away from China is the skill, precision, and quality of manufacturing China provides. So if the right parts and chosen whether it comes from the USA or China, and Vinh thoroughly tested it, I see no reason to doubt the quality of this light will be top notch.

I’m sure Oveready Boss is good quality but for about the same price, I rather get it from Vinh given the number of Skylumen lights I own and love. Also comparing this SLN to “likely” similar price lights from Oveready’s website, the SLN has more of what I want.

YESSS!!! :+1:

PM SkyLumen to discuss this.

So your bent on truth in advertising ……Would you be happy with… 99% made in the USA (with limited imported components) 100% USA designed/assembled :+1:

In my life there is nothing absolutely nothing more important than THE TRUTH and honesty!

It’s the fine line between good and evil between confidence and treason...etc

Sometimes 99% thruth is enough. Like when I say this is a friendly forum, where everyone is easy going and reasonable.

I don’t understand I swear to god I don’t understand is it 99% of truth it’s truth???!!!!

Someone’s claiming that his flashlight is 100% made in the USA and NOT 99% and they will be asking for multiple hundreds of dollars for not even 60% made in the USA??!!

Dose that make any sense to you??

Yes, he is.

I pity Vinh in this regard, imagine he is just presenting/sharing his new flashlight ( and not even selling it a this time) and he gets comments like this, in his own thread at that!

Oh well, talk about not seeing yourself in the mirror! Perhaps he forgot that what’s good for the goose is also good for the gander.

Cooper:
Hey TARS, what’s your honesty parameter?

TARS:
90 percent.

Cooper:
90 percent?

TARS:
Absolute honesty isn’t always the most diplomatic nor the safest form of communication with emotional beings.

Cooper:
Okay, 90 percent it is.

agreed.

I have been quite busy and often stressful between different jobs and this light development that I lose sleep almost daily. However, this is quite entertaining. I enjoy it very much.

Talking about honesty, Vinh, I am honest, I will never be able to afford a light like this, even though I don’t know the price yet!

However, truth be said, this will be one of the most robust and “take me everywhere and I won’t fail you” lights ever built!! I am sure of that!

Also, seeing your tests and your enthusiasm when you say “I cannot kill it, it’s still working”, deserves an honorable mention! It is indeed great!

BTW, I guess you are familiar with Simon Mao (Convoy) tests, so you’ll know this video…specially the part in which he boils the light TURNED ON into the water

Wanna try it with the cell inside? :smiling_imp:
