Sky Lumen Nguyen Flashlight

PM SkyLumen to discuss this.

So your bent on truth in advertising ……Would you be happy with… 99% made in the USA (with limited imported components) 100% USA designed/assembled :+1:

In my life there is nothing absolutely nothing more important than THE TRUTH and honesty!

It’s the fine line between good and evil between confidence and treason...etc

Sometimes 99% thruth is enough. Like when I say this is a friendly forum, where everyone is easy going and reasonable.

I don’t understand I swear to god I don’t understand is it 99% of truth it’s truth???!!!!

Someone’s claiming that his flashlight is 100% made in the USA and NOT 99% and they will be asking for multiple hundreds of dollars for not even 60% made in the USA??!!

Dose that make any sense to you??

Yes, he is.

I pity Vinh in this regard, imagine he is just presenting/sharing his new flashlight ( and not even selling it a this time) and he gets comments like this, in his own thread at that!

Oh well, talk about not seeing yourself in the mirror! Perhaps he forgot that what’s good for the goose is also good for the gander.

Cooper:
Hey TARS, what’s your honesty parameter?

TARS:
90 percent.

Cooper:
90 percent?

TARS:
Absolute honesty isn’t always the most diplomatic nor the safest form of communication with emotional beings.

Cooper:
Okay, 90 percent it is.

agreed.

I have been quite busy and often stressful between different jobs and this light development that I lose sleep almost daily. However, this is quite entertaining. I enjoy it very much.

Talking about honesty, Vinh, I am honest, I will never be able to afford a light like this, even though I don’t know the price yet!

However, truth be said, this will be one of the most robust and “take me everywhere and I won’t fail you” lights ever built!! I am sure of that!

Also, seeing your tests and your enthusiasm when you say “I cannot kill it, it’s still working”, deserves an honorable mention! It is indeed great!

BTW, I guess you are familiar with Simon Mao (Convoy) tests, so you’ll know this video…specially the part in which he boils the light TURNED ON into the water

Wanna try it with the cell inside? :smiling_imp:

It will die. Army buddy is setting me up for a military vehicle drive over. Which model vehcicle we will find out. Also have several pistol calibers to throw at it. The only debate is if I should save those tests for the production 7075 or try it on both beginning with the current proto 6061 model too to see if there is a noticable difference. Another buddy might also be able to get me into a 4 story building to attempt another drop test. Hopefuly we can make that happen.

I wont likely boil the light with a battery inside but who knows…

Not sure how you can just openly lie saying this light is made in China when in fact it is made in the US with maybe a few parts from MTN electronics that comes from China. I made many purchases from Mountain Electronics and everything is good quality. The owner, Richard McDougal, is well known on BLF, and he never tries to hide where his parts come from.

I frequent Vinh’s forums on CPF and he made many mentions in the past that his drivers are made by MTN. All of Vinh’s loyal customers know about it. I mean if even someone like yourself know about it, why do you think there’s any deception involved? It’s public knowledge. Vinh gives credit to Richard all the time.

Also none of the brands you mentioned have anything that comes close to the incredible performance of some of those VN modded China lights. Price wise, labor in the US is expensive and Vinh does this for a living. He is not ripping anybody off. No one is forcing his customers to buy from him. However, the brands you mentioned are even more expensive and the performance in the majority of them are just laughable relative to today’s tech.

You’re telling people not to buy his products because it’s “NOT BRAND NAME” and that he is just a guy modding China lights like anyone else on this forum.

The world’s biggest and most profitable brand started in the garage of this house by a nobody named Steve Jobs.

Let’s just not keep adding to his fuel. We all here pretty much know what’s truth and what isn’t.

Anyways, great looking light Vihn. I feel like here recently there has been a boost of destructive testing from all brands, especially on social media. Thanks for showing us your version of it. Very entertaining! Keep it up.

Nichia, your posts in this thread come off as very inappropriate, to say the least. You have no interest in this light, so maybe just find a different thread to participate in.

Ignore him.

You’re right, that is good advice. I will try.

I find it funny everyone suddenly is against China-made lights and all pro USA-made lights like they’re some kind of easily-impressionable 14-year old girl that hoo-has off of who yells the loudest on Twitter. It’s like they think the location of the CNC-machine makes a difference in the quality or some mysterious aspect of the product.
Guys remember this this forum is not possible if not for China. China literally made ALL, 100% of the lights people talk about these days on the forum. You can find some shitty lights made in the US like maglites but it’s an embarrassment and a non-factor in terms of lights. All of the popular brands like Astrolux, Emisar, FF, Olight, Acebeam, Imalent, etc, etc are all Chinese brands.

Even Vinh makes a killing off of modifying those China-made lights. Imagine him trying to make a living if he didn’t have those base lights at- or near-cost to buy, instead had to pay retail for USA made lights lmfao.

If this light has made-in-China components then I’ll probably splurge and buy one of these lights. I make a point in my life to support those poor but extremely hard working individuals in China working so that we may have access to modern life-changing electronics at such affordable prices. If it weren’t for them all of our day-to-day items would cost manifolds over what they cost now. For example I just bought 8 of the Astrolux MF01 mini and will give 6 away to friends. For $44 it’s an insane, mind-boggling deal for how good of the light this is. Granted I haven’t got the light in my hands but if the MF01s is any indication it’s an exorbitant light wonderfully crafted to perfection at a killer price point.

Lights like the MF01s made in the USA (not that it’s possible, for we’re used to seeing junk 1500 lumen lights w/ ugly tints in our brick and mortars) would be $300+

Notwithstanding top-tier Chinese lights like Acebeam is getting their price-point up there but I don’t buy their products.

Oh yes Please Almighty Truth Master —Tell us what you think we should know—— Why don’t you just Get Lost Already

nichia sounds like wolfdog
