What is Your Favorite 1xAAA Light?

LD01

I have found that I don’t need the barnburners any longer and this lil’ guy meets most of my needs. Plus I love the “raw” aluminum body. The look of SS with the weight of aluminum. Plus, it hasn’t turn my hands black as some suggested. It is a Peak Eiger single mode Mule (simple), level 4 (probably around 10-12 lumens) of high CRI light.

The only one that I currently carry is the Manker E02 right angle light. Nice mode levels and floody enough beam for close up work

My Factor Equipment Mizpah 130 was the one I carried for hat brim use because of it’s fabulous two-way clip and floody beam, but it was replaced by a non-AAA light a month or so ago - Folomov C2, so now I don’t have any 1AAA lights for hat brim use.

I like the looks of the runtime graph for the EDC01 in the OP, but I generally don’t use twisties.

This LM21

Well thats just silly. When I was younger and only carrier a photon II in green for YEARS and, somehow, I survived. For the past 10 years or maybe more I’ve only carrier 1xAAA lights and they work great. Many years carrying a trusty Fenix L0Dce, only recently have I found a couple lights which I’ve been happy enough with to replace it. The Lumintop Stainless Worm is a stellar little light but I abhor cold white. Currently carrying a Thrunite Ti AAA with the neutral XPL and I’m loving it. I wish the threads were a little better (tighter and smoother) and I could appreciate a M-L-H mode order but for $20 its an amazing EDC light that really can pack a punch.

Not to say I don’t use other lights, but 9/10 times its my AAA edc light which gets the job done.

If I really had to pick only one AAA light, though, I think it would go to the Lumintop Ti. Its a bit larger than the Thrunite, about the size of my old fenix. But it has a flawless 219B with perfect tint, well balanced modes and a nice e-switch with virtually no parasitic draw.

I carry one of my Astrolux AO1’s on keyring mostly.
Used to be a Convoy AAA Stainless twisty.
(Whoops SORRY. Titanium not s/s.)

I Have about 8 or 9 AAA’s. But they all only really a novelty.
Sensible torches start around The AA/14500.
Jetbeam Jet-1 mk pro my fav.

+1 for the Jet U
I have the E21a version in three different colour temps. Love them!

Loved my Jetbeam Jet - u on my keychain, but it stopped working after a year. Got myself a Nitecore TIP as replacement, which is an even better keychainlight in my opinion. The Lumintop Ant (stainless steel with tritium in the Tail) ist also very awesome, but that beauty is just to shiny for edc.

It is not nice to judge or to condemn a person because of his physical needs (wish things were different).
Talk to you again when you are my age.

Seems just silly that you didn’t just add “for me” to the end of your statement thats all I bet?

There are plenty of us that find an aaa light useful and plenty that carry one for this every day so to make the blanket statement like you seem too at first is a little short sighted to me,that is how I read it at least.

TheMicrostream is a great example here, many carry this light and it is all that they need, they are rugged and have a huge following for that and the simple operation and great clip that allows it to be useful for many.

These are not bright enough for my main light but I still carry a lot of them because I can and can also easily find an aaa cell anywhere.

I like the ET D25aaa a lot,it is small and sold in a 219b and has a nice moonlight, magnet and workable clip and mine have been indestructable too!

My old ITP AAA one mode .

Working since 2010 .

PKDL-PL2 . To paraphrase Burt Gummer, It’s my ” backup, backup” light.
Low tests about 17.5 hours on a L92. With the Benvelo diy headband holder it’s proved very useful.I pair it with a ancient Tekna for company.

can you share a photo of where the pencil lead needs to be applied to fix the NMM in the Ti3?

since I found a lube that works with Titanium threads (google munky spunk) I like my original Titanium Ti3 much better. IF the presently shipping version, on Amazon, did not now have NMM I could recommend it as a host for a Nichia

I agree the Tools w eSwitch are nice, but I dont know of any available w 219b anymore… There is one advertised on ebay, but they are using old ad copy and actually ship with 219c. They are MLH.

The Copper Tool w eSwitch on Drop is LMH, with a 219c, which is considerably greener than the 219b that is NLA

The TiTool is very elegant, but, I dislike touching the brass ring, it gets hotter than the rest of the light, when using High mode.

The High modes on the Tools only have 30 minute runtimes now, they used to be more efficient. The Medium and Low modes are still efficient, and using High mode for long is a quick way to run out of batteries in an AAA.

My perfect AAA is a Copper Tool w eSwitch and a Nichia 219b swap.

when I want smaller, I like the MLH Maratac Copper AAA (it now ships w 219c, same as the Lumintop Tools that Drop sells, I prefer the earlier 219b versions, or an LED swap to sw45k)

Preon2 pocket clip, available on ebay, on my Copper tool

Manker E02 - My round the house light. The extremely low moonlight modes are perfect in pitch black

Dunno if I could call it my “favorite”, but I’m using the Aider/Ultratac AAA doodad most, out of all my AAA lights, mainly to burn down moribund AAA cells before they start fizzing and leaking.

I’m bummin’.

Easily a third of my lights are AAA (some smaller).

Now I’m sad that they are not useful. * sniff *

I bought 2 yesterday —- one was a Tool AAA CU —— :stuck_out_tongue:

In case somebody is thinking I hate AAA lights. You’re wrong. This is part of my collection. I’m quite certain there’s more of them. Somewhere. And the rest I have given away. As I said earlier: they make nice gifts.

But with my eyesight, their usefulness is rather limited. To me. Thanks for all the “funny” remarks about that.
As you can see, I’m having a hard time focussing properly.

BTW: the tall one on the right is proof of life. That is the Tribute to Old Lumens light CRX gave me.
The little one on the very left is the Ultrafire UF-T1 I was referring to before.

nice photo
my eyes are old too
my used less lights are on the bottom…

after my aaa phase, I ventured into 16340 and presently have upgraded to 18350

the copper tool w eswitch, sw45k, and captive clip is my tour de force in aaa

Nice to notice that not everybody is into black.
At the moment my needs when modding items are upgraded to a 14500 on the brim of my cap.

Though there are two AAA lights that are still very useful for me. Hanging a Playfox K1 or Fenix Liplight on the collar of my dog prevents me from tripping and breaking my neck over her when we make our evening walk.
