So was playing around with the bezel again, planned to polish it to a mirror shine but didn’t like how it was turning out.
Decided to take a red scotch bright pad to it for more of a brushed/machined finish. Will probably live on my FW3T and it matches better than on the FW3A imo.
The aluminum is a little lighter in color than the titanium in pics but in person it’s almost identical.
Just ordered an FW3C. Does anyone think it’s possible to form a penny into the shape of the tail button? Don’t know if it would deform too much if I could make a steel die and press a penny into the right shape. Thoughts?
Has anyone put XP-G3 s 4K 90 cri in this light yet —- I’m looking to do something different — I have all the stock flavors and then some —- I’m thinking may a variety of 4K emitters SST 4K / 351D 3.5K / XP-G3 4K
I purchased a couple used FW3As —One had a couple nicks/etc — decided to bead blast and polish it—-I had been wanting to build a Triple with a mix of LEDs—I went with a
SST 20 4K / XP-G3 4K / LH351D 3.5K combination —- tint seems to be pretty nice (on wall so far) — I compared it to another FW3A with LH351D 4Ks — seems to be slightly more Rosey and have a slight bit mor throw—won’t know anything till the night comes
I’ve purchased 7 total. So easy to reflash and make it your own. I’ve Evilbayed off several lights to fund these. So far, my daily carry has proved to be waterproof and absorbed lots of drops and concrete rash. Sincere thanks to EVERYONE involved in the development of this torch. I tend to use things for long periods of time. Even with a failure, I don’t believe there is too much I couldnt fix or improvise a replacement part for.
