[Review] Acebeam W30 LEP 21700 flashlight

Guys,

Closest to anything I’ve seen review wise of a dive effort for the W30 is in a pool. Cool to see the light bounce from the surface reflectivity

Cheers!

Love the throw but not the price… Now if it were about $100 I’d be interested.$259 is too rich for my wallet.

I tried to order one from Amazon.de,but by mistake I ordered one 4000K and not the 6500k one.Is there a big difference in tint-lux between the two?
I try to cancel my order but the system sucks.

I have neither but I would assume with previous lights that there will be a noticeable difference in tint. And you will get slightly more lux with the 4000k.

Although, if anyone with more knowledge wants to chime in. . . .

I have just received one of them, but as it is noon here in Athens,I wait till the night.
Until then,I tried to the white walls and the ceiling, but I saw that besides the small-intense center beam spot, there is a large orange corona around this, something that I don’t see in the photographs of the reviewer and I don’t like.
Is it OK?
I have finally ordered it as a 6500°K,but I can’t find where it is written this, because I think if they sent me the 4000°K version.
Edit.
I found written on the box, that it is really a 6500°K version.
Looking that it has a 21700 battery inside,I looked at my four chargers, which are,LiitoKala Li- 500,Thrunite MCC-4S, Nitecore SC4,and XTAR VC4,I see that the 21700 is not compatible to any of them. So,I have to put it in a box and use a 18650 instead,or I have to buy a new charger compatible.
What do you suggest please?
Finally,I tried to put a 18650 in,using the cylidrical case, but it is not working,as the battery length is shorter than this of the 21700 one. So,I found a button top 18650,and now it is working.
And the last one.
I took some photos of the beam spot and saw that while I see orange corona with my own eyes,The photos are the same as the reviewer.A little blue one…

Do they just not list the 21700 as compatible. or does the cell physically not fit into the slots (eg, too long)?

If it fits, it’s compatible.

See the “incompatible” 26650 I charged in my PB2S.

Unfortunately it doesn’t fit to any of them. :frowning:

Mine came with acebeam 21700 which has usb charge port

Thank you very much.I hadn’t seen this.
When I tried to check, it was constant red,so I continued charging it.

Hmm. Howbow something like a Folomov A1, with magnetic thingies you just stick on the ends. Can get ’em for cheap, and I keep one in my bag for charging pretty much any cell.

Whoa… nice sale! Get a few of ’em, as they’re really handy. Fit any cell, toss ’em in a bag, squirrel ’em around the house, etc. I had to wait for a flash sale at GB to get a bunch at that price.

Thank you for your suggestion, but at this moment,I am not in a rush for a new charger,as I learned by the other BLFer above, whose help I appreciate, that the battery can be charged directly by the USB cable which is offered together with the light.
Have a good day.

Would some of you with the each of the different versions take a picture of this light illuminating a shadow in daylight at 10 - 30 feet? Say a N facing hole in a tree or similar deep shadow? This light could be very useful for that purpose. In the wilderness I often need that functionality and a lightweight light like this would be wonderful.

Thanks!

Shadows? We don’t need no stinkin’ shadows. I don’t have pictures. This light (4000K) will add to direct sunlight well past 100 ft. I’ll do some experiments on a good sunny day on various objects to see how far out the light is still visible. edit. In case it’s not clear, this will allow you to see into holes day or night.

Thanks. I don’t have much experience with 1.anything million cd.

Is the 4000K the dimmest or is the HCRI the dinmest?

How do you like the tint?

Acebeam W30 4000K at Noon - YouTube Noon time W30 4000K. This video convinced me that I need it. And the video doesn’t really do it justice. It’s better in real life. I got it to look down into drilled water wells and shallow wells looking through 2 to 15 feet of water to the bottom. Sometimes the water is not crystal clear. I figured the 4000K would reflect less light back off of whatever material is causing the water to be turbid and get less reflection back off of the water surface in a shallow well. I’m very happy with it. I don’t know how it compares to the 6500K and the high CRI. I’ve had it about a month and I still haven’t gone out at night in a place where I can let it stretch its legs more than 1000 feet other than into the sky.

Thanks! Is it really that green?

I just received mine couple days ago and it’s WOW.
I’ve got some throwers (includind DEFT-X) but this light takes a cake.
Luckily light diffuser was included and that enables it’s use as normal torch.

Acebeam announced in November that it has been discontinued. You can still find some models out there for sale at higher prices but those may be gone soon if they are not still producing this model. Apparently do to parts supply problems.

Absolutely love the W30vn I so kindly received from Vinh. So ridiculous, its just funny.

Not much buzz about LEP flashlights for some reason.
