ALL THINGS BUDGET KNIVES

I ended up ordering the Schrade. Decent little knife for $11. Opening it one handed with a thumb stud is a bit of a struggle, but closing it is much easier.

Glad you found one that works for you.

My first VG-10 blade, the Kizer Kala (the brown handled knife), brand new out of the box

Below is the Thiers Liérande, french-made knife, 14C28N blade steel, with a good heat treat I would say, a very good slicer around the table.

Around ~45€ each

Nice ones. I’ve been eyeing the Lierande for a while but I don’t want to order from France.

And well, I want a clipped version

You mean, with a belt clip? Not likely to happen I think, unless you customize it yourself

They have plans for that, too.

This one seems a bit too bulky for me. It would be cool though if it was made (as it’s looking to me) of one piece together with the body.

Whoops I had not seen that. Doesn’t look good :confounded:

It’s a prototype by all means. If you ever created anything from scratch you know what that means

You wouldn’t guess how many ‘mistakes’ I find on the first set of selfmade scales that I still own even though the pic is not bad imo

I think about buying TwoSun TS27 and TwoSun TS48 Are they great? Do you know their real HRC rating?

TS48 is in class with Ganzo Firebird FH31 Would you choose that instead?

Do you know about a good budget Folding Cleaver like Ganzo F7551 , max $37. What is the real HRC for F7551?

I also considered TwoSun TS16 As far as I know this knife has no real D2 blade, even it says so in the specs. Think I will pass this.

This guy LuvThemKnives has tested a lot of TwoSun knives and the HRC rating matches, if you browse his videos you might find the knife you are interested in.

The CH Knives Toucans front flipper is a good alternative with D2 blade and ball bearings.

I have a number of Two Suns and I have nothing but good things to say about them. Not exactly budget knives anymore (in my book) but well worth the coin.

Picked up the Pazoda 2. Pleasantly surprised with build quality for the price. Frame lock locks and unlocks nicely. Very sharp out of the box, too. It’s about the same weight as the Schrade (around 49 gram), but smaller.

This has to be scam! CRKT Cleaver $18

That’s a Pilar. You can catch them on Amazon that cheap once in a while. Built like a tank. Good knife. Small and Large versions. Been quite a while since I seen it that cheap though.

Well, I like my TwoSun TS51 Curve but I call it TravelChef.

Not a cleaver but close to it. The clip made it a bit difficult to draw the knife so I rounded the edge of the lockbar relief and gave it a blue orange peel surface.
Much grippier now.

Btw, I love the detent ramp on the blade, makes playing with the knife more fun. But beware, the rather heavy blade runs so smooth that I managed twice to cut myself a bit :stuck_out_tongue:

Just placed an order for this new Brother folder…

It’s a little bigger than the 1503 which I was going to order until the bigger 1507 showed up.
I’m still going to buy the 1503….

I’m very much resisting both of them but I’m looking forward to see the pics and your opinion

Handsome knife. It almost looks like a classic Case on steroids.

You are right!
Finally the (chinese) market run to traditional folding knives.
Well, I’m so tired of modern tactical models…I’m plenty of them!!!
