*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

I got a PM with a code this morning and I’m at 251, so you’re pretty close I assume.

Not throwing darts at Sofirn, but not sure what order is being followed.

I’m in!

My summary of this project:

First off, thanks again DBSAR, TK, Sig, sb, Lex and everyone who was part of this!! This project is a VERY good example of people with different high level skill sets working together to make something so refined and so useful to many.

For years I have worked with professionals who ARE PAID to develop products in the USA and built mostly overseas with similar circumstances. Very rarely do they turn out this well and are refined at this level especially on a first run. Keep in mind, my people are paid professionals who do this for a living. There are so many variables that come into play that no one party is in control of. If ANY of the parties involved are not completely dedicated or motivated, the project can not reach this level. If any of the parties can not give the time to perfect their part, or feel they are not being compensated enough or whatever, it will not reach this level. A factory has to be willing to build at a high level and work with you in good faith that it will be PROFITABLE which is the bottom line. All these factors and more can easily derail any project.

It takes a very special group of knowledgeable, dedicated, passionate professionals all coming together to make these things work.

This project has been as successful or more so than most I have been involved with that were considered a SUCCESS by people who were PAID to do it! I almost think that those who volunteered on this are more dedicated because they WERE NOT paid to do it. They did it because they really wanted to. I think this brings out the passion that money can’t buy.

I don’t think most consumers realize how difficult it is to pull something like this off from conception to in your hands with this level of success especially without development fund$ from a corporation behind them. I don’t think most will ever even understand/appreciate the detail, quality and amount of well thought out features of the LT1. This is OK since it will handle the needs of many different people and applications because it does cover so many.

I think the BLF LT1 project from start to finish ticks ALL the boxes and I DO FULLY appreciate how this worked out. I only wish I had a team like this working for me every day because I would be satisfied and probably also very rich! lol

I am watching daily in anticipation as these codes roll out.

Thanks again to all!

Looking at Sig’s spreadsheet, he’s listed at 255 and 802.

My apology…That is my 2nd number which I haven’t received, yet.
My first is #256 which is the one I ordered

Other people over 500 were able. Maybe they’re checking the numbers now or maybe you just shouldn’t have volunteered the number. Personally, I think they’re going to have to expand things. They’re not going to be able to sell all of the first 500 LT1’s by restricting sales to only the first 500 slots on the interest list.

“They’re not going to be able to sell all of the first 500 LT1’s by restricting sales to only the first 500 slots on the interest list.”

They are not restricting the sale of the LT1. Both models are For Sale on both Amazon and EBay - Available now for world wide purchase.

Anyone can purchase now for either lantern version - Either at full price (EBay) or at a 30/34% discount (Amazon). Want the Forum discount then go to EBay and use the Make Offer portal. Want the Forum discount for Amazon purchase - Then one will need the code.

OK, I misunderstood this. Apparently one does not need to have a code, or even be on the interest list, to get the forum discount on EBay - just be a forum member?

Maybe … …

I’m both a Forum Member and on the List. When I ordered my lantern’s I provided both my Forum name and list number - And made the purchase’s.

I prefer Amazon’s return/warranty to ebay/paypal’s :money_mouth_face:

I do too, but I have a PayPal balance that I intended to use for this transaction, and Amazon won’t let me. :money_mouth_face:

I placed an offer on ebay last night, just waiting for daytime hours over there to see what happens, fingers crossed.

A big congrats to everyone who has been involved. I’m only on here occasionally but have always checked on the progress of this project with interest whenever I do, actually,it’s one of the main reasons why I’d come back, just to make sure I haven’t missed out on the getting one. But my worries would always be put to rest when I see that after a few months away, I click to check and see its now up to prototype number…. Wtf, still on number 1???! Oh well, I’d say to myself, I guess I’m safe to check again in another 6-12 months. I must admit, there were times where I thought Ill never be able to buy one of of these.

But the time is finally here, and the final features look awesome! My bi annual progress checks were not a waste of time after all, as the lantern has developed into so much more than I have ever imagined a camp light could.
It’s almost guaranteed and expected any BLF light release will rock your jocks but I’m aware that these lights wouldn’t even be offered without some really great people behind them who are willing to give up their time and share their knowledge and ideas without hesitation, just so bozos like myself can look forward to rocking up on their next camping trip with a LT1 in hand and wowing the pants off of the fellow campers and their piddly Coleman lights, which now resemble something closer to a glow stick.
So from me, a very genuine thank you for giving me the opportunity to do just that in the not too distant future. :+1:

Ummm I’m pretty confident you won’t be needing to use this.

I’m very happy to hear that about Amazon fulfillment!

Man they could sell so many lights with this colour.

But I still want a hot pink! You can see someone stealing your hot pink LT1 from a mile away.

I do like that color orange too. :+1:

+1. DBSAR and the other volunteers have done a spectacular job. As the saying goes, ‘no good deed goes unpunished.’

Well, just maybe because you’re #914 and #1086.

I think he (Stereodude) needs a bit more alum in his spellchecker.
