As I understand it you should receive one PM since Sofirn wants to give as many people as possible an opportunity to get a LT. Given that the PM’s are sent out manually this may or may not end up being the case.

First I want to thank DBSAR and the whole team for making the BLF Lantern. I was following the projekt before there was a list, and now finally several year after if looks like it comming true !

It looks beutiful and I really like what has been done. Is this version without charging capabilities, maybe I wanted that to if its missing.

I havent benen following the projekt lately have been working and had many other things to attend to.

Anyway now I read that they have been sending emails for ordering. I have number
177, 230,231 and 232 and havent recieved any mail yet. Should I have recieved 1 or 4 mails?

I ordered 5pcs via AliExpress. I didn’t wait for a message on BLF, I just messaged Sofirn.

I have a feeling it’s not going to sell out in the order of the list.

That’s always a possibility when the ordering process is spread among 3 sites (4 if you separate amazon.com from amazon.de) and the orders are manually confirmed and priced on 2 of them.

What Sofirn should do is confirm that the people ordering on Ebay/AliExpress have been sent a PM before dropping the price. But if they are working strictly manually off a list then that would be impossible to do.

I think that many are waiting for batch 2 because they want a non-black lantern. Once the 500 batch 1 lanterns sell out hopefully there won’t be a long wait to order batch 2.

I’m surprised that they let you order 5 pieces since I thought they were going to limit 1 per order.

Oh, I always buy off Sofirn in bulk so whether there’s a GB or not they still give me the best price. I often also get GB prices long after they’ve ended.

I dont know the ‘whys’ but Im getting the feeling that Sofirn might Regret taking control of this stage when Sig had the system all worked out………. maybe not…… we’ll see…

I think they’ll let anyone order and just look at the list before discounting. Not surprising if a lot on the list change their mind.

Their AliExpress page just says to message with BLF username before paying and they’ll change the price. Kind of invites anyone to place an order

Just for the record, I just received notification that my LT1 has shipped. It still continues to show delivery by Nov 7- Dec 11th. I bet it’s here sooner than that though. It was done using the GB PMed code through Amazon.

Do we know if there will be any differences between the batches? Small corrections, improvements, anything like that?

If I understand correctly, batch 2 has slightly newer firmware and an updated manual. There will probably also be green and sand colors at some point. I’m not sure if anything else is expected to change.

The Q8 had significant improvements between batch 1 and batch 2, but the LT1 seems unlikely to work that way since Sofirn now has years of experience with this type of design. My LT1 prototype is a production-quality item, and things have only gotten better since then.

I’ll probably wait to order, but not because I’m concerned about quality. It’s just because I already have one and I want someone else to be able to get theirs sooner

Just curious regarding the original BLF Q8 — what kind of significant differences are there from original batch 1 compared to later batch 2 for the BLF Q8?

I’m not quite sure if my BLF Q8 is batch 1 or belongs to batch 2 (I did order quite early so it may be batch 1 — but I’d like to know what are the improvements for batch 2 and later batches)

I don’t remember all the details, but at minimum the screws were replaced with something harder than butter, and the switch PCB was rebuilt to stop it from dying. I think there were other things too, but I never actually got a batch 1 Q8 and wasn’t involved in the project, so I didn’t really have to pay much attention.
