is there a light that will stop a atacking dog?

Good luck getting to a trial. “Please guilty to a lesser charge or we’ll throw the book at you while you sit in county for months.

You punch some people in the nose, they collapse.
You punch others in the nose, and they forget what pain is.

The only certainty with life is that it always has a surprise up it’s sleeve.

One that’s attached to a Glock 27. JustSayn……

good points
my interpretation

the sonic devices are Heard by the dog
what the dog does next depends on their conditioning

the sound gets their attention, but what they do after that depends on whether the dog has learned that after the sound comes a treat, or some skunk piss

for the OP
I think adding a dog whistle and some treats (or skunk piss) to the walk,
could prove an interesting option to train the dog

I agree just blowing a whistle wont change the dogs behavior, its just a way to get his attention, and to train him to associate the sound with either a reward or a punishment

The BLF GT. Fry the eyes and accidently drop it on the dogs cranium with a little added force like hitting a homer, that should do it and while your at it you can fry the dogs human eyes as well, all good! :+1: :+1:

the humans is the main issue . it aint every hard to teach a dog whats right or wrong

the humans think their dog is fine and its the human (you), that are the problem, otherwise their dog would not have picked you out

but those humans probably wont mind if you convince their dog that you have treats and whenever you blow the whistle, the dog runs out to greet you

the humans might even be impressed
offer them beer

and resist the temptation to whip out the bear spray

 The only light I’ve seen that would do the trick is the trunk light from the Malibu in Repo Man. How you’d get a dog to open and look in a car trunk is another issue…

now i just cross the street which sucks becuaase this street is so dang busy its like the turnpike busy

None of our suggestions worked? Which did you try?
I’m not being judgemental, just curious and wish you had a better solution than crossing the street.
Be safe.

well considering if it fails id be dog bit . i wasnt going to take the risk but im glad i asked for advice because it reminded me how bad a dog bite can be. then i started to think dogs are from wolfs and wolfs cn kill huge animals . if i walk the ther way there is no dogs but man o man the terain is so hard to get a solid foot on the ground

Jeeze, I hope we didn’t make the situation worse than it really is. You have survived passing thru the battle zone, right?
Then probably the dog isn’t a “Natural Born Killer” worthy of a 40mm ’tween the eyes.
Butt you are the sole witness and caretaker of your own skin, so you be the judge of what works for you.
Take care and carry a big light.

u 2 welll one good thing is i noticed the other side of the street has way less holes where i walk. and no sprinklers

So much for flashlights for self defense!

Brought a flashlight to a gun fight

He got some licks in, and drew some blood hitting the person on the head with the flashlight. Such a feat would be almost impossible if he tried to do the same to a dog. A dog can and will move his head much, much faster than the person/cop can move his head.

The ideation of punching or kicking a charging attack dog on the nose is nothing more than idyllic fantasy.

What they don’t mention is that the guy beat the other with an SP10.

That’s why he ended up with a second butthole.

Of course there is… Whatever light you have attached to your pistol lol

well he almost got me again i was able to move my leg away fast enough from his mouth. but sadly i lost my tempare and yelled F&^%ing rednecks. to the owners it was out of fear mostly i didnt corss the street becuase i was in hurry to get to bank

This just in: Mother stabbed the dog with a knife, and police tased the dog multiple times to free the boy from the family pets' jaws:

It wouldn't have been worse if the mother only had a flashlight and the police only had a flashlight: Net result with knife now and taser after:

Dead four year old boy. By the way, the dog fell neatly into one of only two dog classifications: "had never shown aggressive behaviors".

The other one of two dog classifications: "The dog had displayed aggressive behavior in the past".

Correct me if I am wrong: Human beings are the only species that forces another dangerous species upon itself.

So they were “fostering” a dog that turned on them.
I have a pit/boxer mix, and he is a big pussycat that loves everyone.
BUT, we got him at 6 weeks old.
I would never foster/adopt a large powerful breed with children in the house. There is no way of knowing the true history of the dog, other than the fact that SOMEONE did not want him anymore.
