These are back up on Amazon atm, was able to get the order in and my code worked. Received the code on the 17th somehow (I was #628,) but couldn’t get to it right away and then the lantern was unavailable for a few days while sales were suspended.
So what happens after all 3000 are produced and codes sent?
I bet a lot of people on list do not buy are they going back into the pool after enough waiting time or not?
Ok, Very good. I Guess I was confused when I saw the update of “The initial GroupBuy lot of the 3000 LT1 units Sofirm has alotted is now filled.”, and thought that meant all 3000 were sold.
My speculation is that there will be no recycling codes, and no extensions to the group buy. It has already been mentioned that Sofirn may allow some people to buy at the group buy price by asking for a code in PM. They did that for the Q8. So that seems like the most likely way forward.
I dont see why not…… Sofrin designated 3000 units to BLF for the GB and I think it is reasonable to expect that …. even if they dont go to the original list holders. I look at the 3000 GB price as a show of appreciation from Sofirn for ALL the work done by the BLF team. They are going to make a ton of $$ selling these(and V2) long after the GB is sold out and for years to come. Think about how many folks have depended on Coleman lanterns through the years ……… and this Lantern will replace them. I know it will replace mine. Think of not having to worry about toting gas and constantly replacing fragile mantles. Im not even sure Sofirn realizes what the potential is yet. I suspect sales will soar once these get exposure and folks get a chance to actually use them and reveal all the advantages over the gas powered Colemans. I will miss my Colemans but the LT1 IS the future of Lanterns.
Yes, it’s a very nice lantern, and Sofirn should do very well with it. The reason I think there will be no “recycling” of codes is because Sofirn is already very generous, and will probably allow people to PM for individual codes for a while, like they did for the Q8. So, in other words, there will probably be new codes for a while, and no need to “recycle” old codes that had already been given out, even if they never got used.
Got DM with Amazon code last week. Tried to purchase a few hours after code was sent. Amazon would not accept code. Sent error message to Sofirn by DM. No reply.
