Slightly too cold tint, light quality is very dull and boring, compared to any higher CRI led from other manufacturers that take illumination quality more seriously. Ok for occasionally lighting up stuff in the dark, unbearable for EDC.
If you asked that question three years ago I really would have liked the led, but so much has happened in led quality the past years (but not at Cree) that it is not so anymore.
I went the same way. True, good old XP-L HI has low CRI, but as I was advised by TK, they sustein the highest output due to least heat production. Bingo for me since in this case I pay much attention to long-term output.
I’m more CRI demanding when it comes to headlights…
Will you offer it with warm white high CRI LEDs under the button and with adjustable brightness levels let’s say up to 5-10 Lumens to use as reading light or as all night long room light!! It would be awesome!!
if you do it i I will buy up to 5 lights
Also why you don’t offer more high CRI LEDs options??
I ordered mine a couple days ago when the option was available on the website.
Personally, I chose the flush-switch. The raised switch offers additional protection against pocket activation. But with Anduril, it’s less important than with the D4v1’s rampingIOS. Anduril has protections to prevent pocket burning.
I have a D4v2 with the raised switch ring. It works, but the upper edge of the ring is a bit sharp. I much prefer my home made raised ring constructed from a filed down nickel-plated brass finishing washer, which has a comfortable rounded feel at all angles.
