Sofirn Q8, I think. Thorfire Q8 / BLF Q8 will not fit, isn’t it?
Correct, the Thorfire Q8 has a different thread pitch, and will not thread onto the LT1 or the Sofirn Q8 head, ( but the Sofirn Q8 does fit the LT1 head.
BLF Q8 fits and works just fine on both the Sofirn Q8 and LT1. Only the BLF Q8 works on the BLF Q8. Only the original tubes have the vertical designs line up on the original lights

My LT base works with my 2 Q8 head’s but the LT doesn’t light up when the Q8 bases are screwed into it.
The first batch ( first generation) of the Thorfire BLF Q8 has a different thread) the tube on my original Q8 wont thread in properly to the LT1 head. but the newer Sofirn built Q8 does have the same thread as the LT1, (as Barry mentioned that is the case.
Both my Q8’s are from the second Thorfire batch and threads do seem to be the same as the LT since they easily screw in to each other. Since the Q8 works with the LT base I think that the LT would work with the Q8 base if I used a paper clip to take up some space. But since I only did it as an academic exercise I probably won’t bother testing that
They must have changed the threads in their second batch, as i can only get mine to thread a couple turns on and it binds up.
It’s interesting they did that. I know there were some relatively minor changes from batch 1 Q8 but I didn’t realize the thread changes.
Can’t wait to hear more about people’s experience with the lantern. I’m in the 2nd group (around 2700), so it might be a little bit. It’s awesome that Sofirn is so in touch with the forum.
Mine has been in customs I guess for nearly a week. It landed in country 6 days and 9 hours ago. Forgot how they can drag their feet. My ylp headlamp, along with alot of stuff lately flew right through.
I only waiting to buy it.
Mine was scanned into the nearest major city distribution center as of late last night. From there, my items usually take only a day or two. I’m surprised I haven’t seen another scan for it already in my city. But it should be here soon at this point.
Following… I received one “single use code” on Oct 11th, but I’m signed up for several. I also requested codes for LT with batteries. Looking forward to getting these ordered up!
I have not received an actual production one yet from my first order either. (only have the test production prototype i been picking the bones out of, to work out any rough edges for the production LT1s for everyone else.
I ordered on Oct. 13th and it arrived today Oct. 20th.
Should have been delivered Oct. 28th but Post Office sent it to the wrong Office………
Slight problem is that I am in Florida right now and the Lantern is in Upstate NY……….

Man, I’m so jealous of all you who’ve gotten them. I ordered on the 14th but mine apparently hasn’t even left China yet. Oh well, nothing much I can do that be patient. I’m really looking forward to round 2 so I can order my second one.
Mine spent 9 days in customs before popping out early Monday morning. Then no status update until mid morning today, its out for delivery. :partying_face:
