My Emisar D4S V2 Cyan Arrived

Well, this thing is beautiful. I am going to review it after I digest all the new lights I received over the past couple of weeks.

Thinks that I like so far.

  • The color
  • The aux lights
  • Lockout mode
  • Brightness
  • Size
  • That you can set separate colors and intensity for the aux lights in both lockout mode and active mode

Beautiful light. I really like the choice you made on aux lights. Too many D4 have that “angry fruit salad” mix.

Also love the Mora. That’s a working knife!

Thanks, man! I have the active aux lights set to the darker blue, and the lockout aux lights set to red - to easily identify which mode the light is in. The Mora is from the 1970s and it has seen a lot of use, I don’t try and keep this one or my old Norse king in perfect condition, as you said - they are working knives.

I have been looking at these and the Zebralight sc700d, very nice. Thanks for posting. More options lol. Been waiting on a custom Puukko forever, think the shop forgot me.

can u really set (adjust) the intensity of the aux LEDs?

wow do I want this light!

There are several settings for the aux lights. Off/low/high, color choices, blinking, it’s great. I really appreciate being able to set my light to green aux for being in normal mode, and then in red for lockout mode so I know just where it rests.

I know there are different settings as u say but I don’t believe you can adjust the intensity? On the FF E07 there is a potentiometer whereby you can adjust the intensity.

Yes you can. 3 options. Low, High or blinking or Off.

7 clicks from Off will change Low/high/Blinking or off

7 clicks and H from Off will change the Colors

From lock position, 3 clicks will change the Low/high/Blinking

From Lock position 3 clicks H will change the colors if I am not mistaking.

So the Aux lights can be set to low, high, blink, or off. And both the lockout mode and the active mode can have different ones.

Yeah, that really is awesome. I freaked when I figured it out last night.

My light arrived yesterday as well. I share the same impressions as withoutink does.

but I can add:

1- The Cyan color is not the same as the pictures on the website but is still beautiful.

2- I order my tint Neutral White - XP-L HD V6 3D, 5000K and I really love this tint.

3- When I compare the Emisar D4SV2 to my Fireflies E07 it feels better in the hands and is smaller. Just feel right.

4- It has a longer turbo than the E07 and take much longer to get very hot.

5- The flooding extra optics is not very good because the throwing capacity is reduced dramatically vs the flooding benefit.

6- I wish Emisar will do the Ti/C version in 26650

Here a video from yesterday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyxCj6gmtyI&t=294s

God! I really need to quit this forum! Too many desirable lights poping up… especially from Emisar and Astrolux.

This D4SV2, the D4V2 Ti/Cu, The FT03, EC01, MF 01 Mini… What next? A D18V2?
Oh! And i forgot the BLF LT1 which is just shipping after three years in the making.
I’m running out of space to store or display all my lights… and don’t want to know how much i spent on them. :person_facepalming:

Have u compared the regular optic with the optional floody optic? I love a floody beam. Just wondering if the optional floody optic is noticeable?

thanks.

OMG I got mine in the mail today too. Cyan D4SV2 XP-L HI 4000K. The color and finish are beautiful (thankfully it’s not really cyan, but more blue) and those multi-color AUX lights make me wanna go join a gay pride parade!

I already had the original D4S, so I basically already knew I’d love it, but wow, it’s just so perfect.

I got the extra floody optic too since this is my bedside light and I use it for ceiling bounce a lot. I’m not really concerned about throw. It almost gets rid of the hotspot but reduces light output quite a lot.

I’ll post up some beamshots in a few minutes.

Sorry I’m not good at this. This are taken with iPhone XS full auto mode, no flash of course.

Both were on max ramp (not turbo). Both lights have the same emitter and tint bin.

the floody optic seems pretty effective.

Yes is pretty effective but kills the throw dramatically making the light useless at more than 15 feet.

The original optic is very well balanced between flood and throw.

I don’t care for the feel of the blue anodizing.
