Looking for SUPER floody

I have good throw lights, but no great/super flood flashlights. I started looking at the ROT66 Gen2 with the Osram LEDs which sounds perfect, especially the no battery carrier and different optics it comes with. Big fan of Anduril btw - which is a must and multi LEDs. The reviews have been less than steller on the Fireflies tho. Also considered the MF01S and Mini version, but now I saw something coming out from Emisar. Should I wait for it and Black Friday 2018 versions on sale now that are just as good? Forget them all and start a bonfire??

If you are interested in flood, the ROT66 G2 with the 219B and SST-20 4000K with their floody optic will give you a beautiful wall of HI CRI light. The MF01 Mini is actually more throwy than floody. From what I remember, Emisar and Fireflies lights are not on sale on Black Friday.

I was going to recommend a Noctigon Meteor 43. Super floody, stupid bright for it’s size. Horrible UI. Absolutely horrible. Never mind I take back my recommendation. You are better off with a S2+ with 120 degree waffle TIR lens.

I don’t know diddly about super high lumen lights. I don’t use them and don’t own any of them. I haven’t got to use the MF01S but a friend has a MF01. I have played with that and can tell you it’s a monster amount of floody light. So much so that I was blinded by the reflection of stuff right in front of me. I couldn’t see as far as it lit up because the area directly in front of me was getting blasted with 10,000+ lumens. At that point I decided I didn’t need one.

ROT66 with bead tir.
M43 and change optics to 10509.
G180 with the same trick ^
MT03.
D18 with frosted optics.
Jax Z1 if you like zoomie.
And actually most flashlights with DC fix.

I never had a MF01 but I do have a MF01S and it throws way more than it floods. For me it almost the perfect balance of flood and throw and I think the MF01 is all flood mostly.

I would suggest you consider the Sofirn SP36 with Anduril . Floody enough and fits my hand much better than my Q8.

I own Acebeam X80-GT and MS18. I can tell you the Acebeam X80-GT has more flood in a short distance than the MS18.

If you want a flooding light, go with the Acebeam X80-GT.

ROT66 with beaded TIR, SST20 4000k leds, and a Lee Zircon 804 filter between the glass lens and optics. Absolutely beautiful and tremendously huge hotspot that still has some throw to it.

If cost isn’t a concern, you can go for the super high output floody can lights like the Thrunite TN50 with its 4 xhp70.2s, or Acebeam X80GT with its large amount of XHP50.2s. Both lights will give you the highest sustainable output of around 3-4000 lumens for such a small form factor.

Super floody comes from a light with an absurdly large quantity of large emitters nestled within very shallow, very small diameter reflectors; or a mule with no reflectors or optics at all, for those who want almost zero throw, to provide for almost 100% flood.

Least amount of throw per lumens classification will lead you down the path toward to the most flood.

Super Floody lights for being honest with you are not good for neighborhoods because they blind everybody. Having something between thrower and flooder is more useful.

I have one acre of land and 5 acres surrounding it = all with no trees. So when I hit the turbo I need all of it to stand out quickly. You only have one shot to see Bigfoot before he runs off!!!
Thanks for all the input folks;)
Budget is $0-125….

That something, for me, is X45. With performance boost modification, 25,000 lumens and 775 meters.

Larger head diameter, and more throw: X65.

Plus more than that: R90TS.

Smaller than all of these? Ok, then your options are almost infinite.

Don’t forget that the floodier the beam, the more it’s “diluted”, so double the angle is a quarter the intensity.

I mentioned this elsewhere a few days ago, that despite my GTmini looking somewhat anæmic on black asphalt up close, it lit up trees in the distance very (and surprisingly) nicely, whereas my… Q8? DC7? forgot what I brought… was painfully bright up close, but hardly lit up those trees even faintly. Quite disappointing.

I recommend the Haikelite MT03 TA; about 20,000 lm - all flood - decent tint. At about $90 from Banggood with a coupon, it offers the most flood for your money.

I like it! Can Anduril be side loaded?

It comes with Narsil, which has the principal features of Anduril. I don’t know if there is a version of Anduril that will work with it. I also don’t know if it can easily be flashed to Anduril.

The MF01 is very floody. I also find that zoomies typically appear very floody, like this HT35 Haikelite HT35 Flashlight Review! - YouTube , but I think that’s more subjective & might be due to the sharp contrast at the perimeter of the beam

Nope, that’s not subjective. Zoomies are sometimes considered super-floody and sometimes not, depending on what property does one consider to be the defining for flooders and on the light in question.

Aspheric flood beam is very smooth with sharp cutoff. In practically all cases there’s some discoloration at the very edge of the beam.
When the desired property of a flooder is beam uniformity - aspheric flooders are often as good as it gets (though a clear lens may be unable to remove tint shift of the LED)
But some desire a wide beam, even 180 degree. Here a lot depends on particular light, some have it narrower some have it wider. None has 180 degree.

That’s a part of the reason why I love aspheric flooders. The sharp cutoff makes it easy to avoid shining light where it would distrupt others.
