  • Standard Charge: 2000mA,CCCV 100mA cut-off

  • Charging Time: 2.5hours(standard charge)

  • Quick Charge Current: 4000mA

  • Max Continuous Discharge Current: 25000mA

This is high current 18650 batteries with good capacity.

Very nice discharge curves with a good match and capacity drops slowly with higher current.

I forget to put the temperature sensor on the A battery

By accident I started a “small battery test” instead of a normal test for the A cell. This means it will include a 100mA discharge, charging current is 0.5A and this test here only goes to 7A

See text above.

Conclusion

This is a very good high current cell.

Overstated capacity as usual.

Smells like Murata VTC5D under the hood.

Thanks for another review.

Thanks for all your work HKJ.

Thank you HKJ. I’ve been waiting for you to add this to your comparator. I assume this is the Sony VTC5D under the wrap. I bought a bunch of these Vapcells last year and am very happy with them. Outputs higher than my original wrapper Sony VTC6 in all of my high output flashlights. It is the best 18650 high drain and good capacity cell on the market.

Now hopefully you can test the new Vapcell rewrapped Molicel P28A. Hopefully this will outperform the VTC5D.

Thanks HKJ,I have Four of these from last spring. I was told they art VTC5D re wraps

P28A? Never heard of it. Do you mean P26A?

False, the Sony / Murata US18650VTC6A (3000mAh, 25A Max continuous) is much better, and no other brand has managed to do as well or better, the only big problem remains to get at the moment (and authentic, not fake VTC6 rewrapped in VTC6A as is often the case). Personally I managed to get 6 units in February 2018, since impossible to get again, at least authentic, but what a person working in the distribution of lithium-ion cells told me, this situation should be unblocked soon.

Vtc6a is the best 18650 for sure but they cant be bought anywhere. I bought the last two from Vapcell. Hope they make more of those or hope Molicel will outperform it.

Looks like a good one. If it’s cheaper than vtc5d then will be nice

Great job,HKJ :+1:

HKJ, will you be able to do a re-test of the Vapcell 2800mAh 18650 (perhaps Vapcell can provide them to you).

I’ve ordered these Vapcell 2800mAh 18650 (similar wrapping and label) but it looks a bit different from the ones in the photo — the bottom has a “ring” (and Vapcell mentions it’s now using Sony VTC5D). The photos of this former Vapcell 2800mAh 18650 do not look like Sony VTC5D…

If Vapcell provides a new one I will retest it.

Never change, always VTC5D rewarpped

Could you give us some pics?

Thank you very much.

Ok, I'm sorry, I thought the picture from HKJ didn't have a "ring" on the bottom, but the photo just doesn't show it very clearly:

It looks like it's still the same Sony VTC5D. Pardon the confusion.
