Toykeeper says it’s step 4 of 7 steps, about 500 lumen. You should see no PWM effects on this level.
I don’t think it can be considered regulated, though. The power is reduced by going through a resistor bank as opposed to going through linear regulators. This is due to it being 6v nominal and 7135 regulators don’t always behave at such high voltages (8.4v).
The D4S and D18 are both 3v nominal, well within the range of the 7135 chips.
All ramped levels show PWM. It’s only visible when facing the light at the camera at a close distance. The frequency is high so it doesn’t flash but you see some lines.
I finally could purchase one, and today I received it.I now charge the batteries by a Nitecore charger at 2A,waiting to be finished,so as to see the beam and take some measurements.
I could say that turning it up while batteries were at 3.36V,the light which I saw on the ceiling,as it is daytime now here,is less than the modded by the BLFer giorgoskok, Astrolux MF01,which has a throw of some 85,000cd.
It is the throw I want to see as well ,after the charging is finished, and take some measurements on a Dr. meter luxmeter.
After finishing charging,I see that it is stronger than the older one,but I have to make the mesurements to see the throw.Anyway, trying to lock out the light,I see that while being locked out,it is blinking both, the green switch light plus the coloured leds inside.
Is it normal?
Maximum power makes the most heat so it burns a shorter time. So do you want max power (high drain battery) or do you want max run time on Turbo (high capacity battery)?
Capacity is probably a bit less, maybe 3400mah. Discharge is definitely wrong, no way it’s 25A continuous. Probably 8-10A. Similar to the Panasonic GA I believe. So low drain, high capacity. I would stick to the big brands if possible.
I don’t know your choices. Where can you buy from? What country are you in?
My choice for this light is a good middle battery like Samsung 30Q (I think button top are good for this model light) . It has good power plus capacity, is high quality, not too expensive and easy to find.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to see if Vaseline holds up to it, but I doubt it too. Aluminum shines up so nicely and the anodizing wasn’t up to par on my copy.
I have both, the MF01 and the MF01S,(in a wonderful silver colour),and I think that the switch of the new light is better. So,I ask if it is possible to change the switch to the new one.
I want to have handy the older light, because it has a strobe mode of 18Hz,as it is modded and it has both more lumens, different UI,plus 18Hz strobe. The latter, because this frequency is the more annoying frequency.
