26650 Batteries

Yes, I mean 2Amp-Hours storage capacity.

He did a test like me in Trustfire A8 thread.

Thanks, kramer. I'm not seeing where the Trustfires that Pok tested were purchased. EDIT: Pok responded in other thread that origin of the cells is unknown. I would not consider the Trustfire 'brand' to be tested without knowing source of the tested cells. Too many fake TFs running around.

On DX, I'll change the description in the OP when DX changes the description in their product headline and wrapper. Many folks don't read down into the details....

Oh right, excellent point... its just the heat shrink, they can stick ANYTHING under there and pass it off as a quality product.

Yikes... probably an old cell from the recycle bin, or maybe an 18650 inside a fake shell. Definitely some scams out there.

None that I'm aware of. Very little information on this battery, but I'll add it to the OP in the Unprotected section.

I just finshed testing one it was 4.3Ah

Every battery i have brought from them has been crap.

Thanks for the info on buyincoins, looks like they should be avoided.

Now, don't beat around the bush, tell us what you really think!

I will maybe buy one from buyincoins for test.

Hmm. . . and I was considering those protected Sanyo 2600's (18650's) from BuyInCoins for $6.58 each. Maybe I should reconsider.

ROFLMAO...

lols sorry i did have other words in mind that was the sweetest one i could find, ive had a few part refunds from them due to under performing batteries and a torch that tail cap would not screw on due to bad threads, but i was told cause i still could use the items that was good enough. I brought some 3000 mAh nimh after a week of cycling the best i could get was 660 mAh, i have 2400 mAh so 3000 is not to far off just fluffed up, but i did expect around 1800 mAh silly me and usualy less then 50% of the claimed mAh from 18650,s from them, but im sure others have had good luck from them or they might not be testing mAh, IR or voltage sag with hobby chargers or any test equipment. Just my opinion

If people want to send me batteries to test I'm willing to test them, i can do data tables and graphs with data logging with my charger and computer and post up the info for all to see or research. If people want to chip in a small amount of $$$ towards buying a battery to and have it sent to me to test and if we get enough intrest so there is only a very very small out lay for each donation and its all made public on the forum would that intrest any one for the great good of the forum ?

Some links to other battery tests i have done, slowly improving i like to think.

While I appreciate you posting new battery sources, I am not going to list every ebay seller of batteries out there. First of all, we have no idea if they are real or fake. Second, they provide very little information about the batteries and Third, they advertise inflated capacity. Both cells you linked look like they have protection, but no mention is made in the description (unless I missed it). For both of these, I sent an email to the seller asking them:

What is the underlying cell manufacturer (under the wrapper)?
How as 5000mAh cell capacity determined? Do you have test data?
Does this cell have a protection circuit?

I am getting to the point where I want to start boycotting anyone that sells fakes, including DX, DD or anyone else we find doing it, and I think we should start calling them out when we catch them. ebay is especially notorious as a source of counterfeits, trouble is, there is no way to really call them out - just too numerous.

I think it would be easier to bold, highlight or asterisk those vendors whose cells actually DO meet claimed specs. That seems easier to manage than trying to corral all the new fraud sellers that seem to pop up every week... IMHO of course.

Ive done a reveiw of the Tr-005 26650 charger here:

Got my Keygos 26650s in 11 days, not bad at all. They definitely are protected, the first one had a 4.0V charge and fit in my Xtar WP II to charge with no problem.

Great! I think many of us are very curious about the performance of this battery. Please keep us posted. Thanks.

Keygos 26650mA come with PCB.

Full charge 4.2V discharge @1A to 3.3V (PCB cut off) = 2951mA
Still test for cell 2.
