Worked on the bezel this arvo. Looks much better now. It also fits the optic. Last time I test fit the optic into the bezel while it was still mounted in the chuck. I think the bezel had expanded from heat because the optic fit fine but when I finished the lathe work and mounted on the host the optic did not fit anymore 
It fits now but I need to use something to hold the optic from spinning whilst fitting the bezel.

That is an item of extreme beauty. Having a light inside is a bonus……. I’d happily look at it empty lol! Looks like Leopard skin.
Lol, one of my daughters likened it to a giraffe. It’s a good thing if it’s being percieved this way because I wanted to make the best of the metal pattern. Of the other superconductor ligths I’ve seen the pattern mostly straight up and down lines

I was laying on the lounge floor with this light in my pocket. I took it out so I could lay on my side and placed it underneath the table. I thought that’d make a cool pic….
The bezel is the same diameter as a D4 but the optics sit deeper
The bezel has some marks from the last time I worked it in the lathe and the tail still has machining marks but other than that I think I’m done. I tried to get a ceiling beamshot to show the beam shape but it didn’t turn out so good. Will try for beamshots again later.
Wow, it turned out really nice. I like how the curves highlight the patterns in the superconductor material. I wonder how it will patina.
