Thank you sooo much for these! I got my order last week of 100 3400K and have slowly been sprinkling the joy of warm HI CRI LED light 10 lumens at a time. Just doing button cell keychain, an old 2AAA medical light… and such so far. I have a couple 12 and 30 LED projects in the works to use up half the stash already.
….so I just ordered another 100 3400K. Not to hoard them, I just never want to run out! They seem to be finding homes rather quickly just turning craptastic little lights into fantastic.
For now I’ve changed some of my LED candles out to the 3400K 5mm LEDs modded with a Rosco Cinegel #3407 orange filter in front. The high CRI really compliments the professional filter, and the color is amazing. I will try to take some comparison shots between original (monochrome orange LED), modded, and modded with filter. I’m currently away from home so I’ll be doing some mods next week.
Hardest part would probably be to make reliable contact to the shell. Othewise it is just plastic work. You’ll probably need epoxy. Brass pin should be soldered.
Gotta be careful with the current though. This batch of 2300k LEDs has 0.1v less forward voltage than the other two tints and also (supposedly?) 45 deg angle rather than 60 degs.
News: 4000k variant is in the pipeline. This is from a different source than what’s already put on sale. The tint is unknown (and possibly imprecise) and these costs me more than the previous source. I will do some basic tint testing once they arrive. As always, I will give away someone a sample for CRI test.
