WHAT FLASHLIGHT AAA SHOULD I BUY ?

glaree e03 has only 3lm for low mode, not a real moonlight mode. it was cool white, not my preferred color

thanks for that info…
did you measure the lumen levels on a meter yourself, or have a link to where you got the 3 lumen info?

It is always helpful to get real world lumen values as so many online specs are far from accurate

for example, the Glaree claims:
Mode: Moonlight: 0.1Lm

no I am guessing. It's the same as the nitefox k3 driver, the hardware is exactly the same and I remember someone measuring around that much for the k3. I swapped the pills inside both, I have an LH351B 3000k inside mine and it's wonderful. Not too bright at night at all because of its warmth. Amazon review mentioned 3lm and I believe it,m ed they said was 25lm, and high is 120, all are very much in range of my usage

I am sure it's not sub lumen though. 100% sure on that, it was much too bright.

I took a picture with my astrolux a01

e03 with lh351b 3000k

A01 with 219B 4000k

both in lowest mode https://ibb.co/3FC1jLJ

BangGood is starting Black Friday sales early. The Astrolux A1 AAA light is on sale for $7.99 (all colors). Appealing (to me) because of the Nichia 219b LED. It provides three modes + strobe (hidden).

Here is a review by ReManG. Decent tint and beam quality IMHO.

Is it a 219B or 219C? If I scroll down and look at Features, it says:

-NICHIA 90 CRI NVSW219C-R9050-SW40 LED

It probably used to be a 219b that they downgraded to a 219c - and they are trying to obscure this fact. They may feel covered as long as 219C is stated somewhere in the description page, even though 219b is stated in at least three other places. Bummer, and sorry.

not only is the current Astrolux A01 using a 219c, it has Next Mode Memory and PWM

AVOID!

I have a copper and like the light. Add programmable modes and Nichia 219C and it’s a thumbs up from me.

I have gifted propably 50 of those. I like them, and have 15 on order. I plan to give one to members of my church.
I have never had a complaint, nor have I had problems with the one I carry. For the price it is a great buy.
I have bought them with various names Enjoy Deal is probably the one I have bought most.

It depends on what you want exactly. I have the new OSRAM EDC01 and OSRAM Tool AAA. I agree that they appear to have the exact same heads just different bodies and they are interchangeable. The OSRAM is very cool white and very floody behind the pebbled TIR.

I prefer my CO1S d/t hi cri and 4000k temp, simple UI without mode memory. plus, it loses fewer lumens as flood… the only thing I would change about is a middle mode would be nice. Sometimes 100 lumens is too bright and 3 lumens too dim; a L (1 lumen) M (20-40 lumen), H would be great. The edc01 is a bit shorter than the rest and the I3e EOS is even shorter, which is nice on a key ring.

Some AliExpress sellers have made the Jetbeam Jet-U available for about $11 USD. It’s a simple 3 mode light with memory. But size is really great. Anodizing is strong, in a very dark brown (almost looks black). L/M/H are all good levels. The Sofirn C01S wins on tint, but I prefer the Jetbeam build quality. And it’s a really handsome looking light. The SS clip on it is great too. It also tail stands well. And has two lanyard holes that don’t interfere with tail standing.

I can’t emphasize this enough — PWM absolutely sucks with small task lights. It’s very noticeable on low modes. I thought we were done with this, but my relatively expensive Aurora A8 came with PWM that is easy to ignore only at highest 2 levels. The two lower levels, it’s noticeable. Every. Single. Goddamn. Time. I. Use. It. I thought I’d get used to it. But I didn’t. Love this little multi-function LED curiosity, except for that. I have a love/hate relationship with the light.

Any list or recommendation for AAA light that don’t have PWM at all?

Olight i3T EOS
Sofirn C01S

Thanks!

There are more, certainly, but from the ones I have, these are the ones that I know (and checked on the phone camera) that have no PWM at all!
Perhaps other members can indicate others!

BTW, despite the tint is Cool White, the Olight i3T EOS is a great flashlight! Always with me on my Arc Wallet! :+1:

Dia the c01s lack of middle mode makes the light less usable? Since the low mode might not be enough and high mode will only last around 30 minutes?

I don’t find the lack of a middle mode problematic on my C01s lights. The optic is a good balance with a large hotspot and minimal flood which makes the low mode appear brighter and projects fairly well. I like the simple 2 mode interface and find low works well for most tasks.

Thanks! Would EDC01 have longer runtime than C01S?Jetbeam Jet-U, C01s, or EDC01, ehich would be preferable? Astrolux A01 is no g since got PWM.

Crossing some specs and reviews, on the lowest mode, the Lumintop EDC01 (5 lumens) would have an runtime of 36 hours, while the Sofirn C01S (3 lumens) would have a runtime of 25h15m.

But on the highest mode, the EDC01 (120 lumens) would have a runtime of 30 minutes and the Sofirn C01S (100 lumens) would last around 1h21m

So, it will probably depend on your use!
