While I appreciate you posting new battery sources, I am not going to list every ebay seller of batteries out there. First of all, we have no idea if they are real or fake. Second, they provide very little information about the batteries and Third, they advertise inflated capacity. Both cells you linked look like they have protection, but no mention is made in the description (unless I missed it). For both of these, I sent an email to the seller asking them:

What is the underlying cell manufacturer (under the wrapper)?
How as 5000mAh cell capacity determined? Do you have test data?
Does this cell have a protection circuit?

I am getting to the point where I want to start boycotting anyone that sells fakes, including DX, DD or anyone else we find doing it, and I think we should start calling them out when we catch them. ebay is especially notorious as a source of counterfeits, trouble is, there is no way to really call them out - just too numerous.

I think it would be easier to bold, highlight or asterisk those vendors whose cells actually DO meet claimed specs. That seems easier to manage than trying to corral all the new fraud sellers that seem to pop up every week... IMHO of course.

Ive done a reveiw of the Tr-005 26650 charger here:

Got my Keygos 26650s in 11 days, not bad at all. They definitely are protected, the first one had a 4.0V charge and fit in my Xtar WP II to charge with no problem.

Great! I think many of us are very curious about the performance of this battery. Please keep us posted. Thanks.

Keygos 26650mA come with PCB.

Full charge 4.2V discharge @1A to 3.3V (PCB cut off) = 2951mA
Still test for cell 2.

Order here

So really not particularly great batteries, actually worse than my EagleTac 3100mAh 18650s :frowning:

If PCB cutoff @ 2.75V , maybe total capacity is around 3500mA+-

Curious... was that 3.3V measured with a meter or the voltage display on the charger? I am just wondering because my charger is .15V off from my Fluke. So the charger will cut the discharge at 3V but it actually is more like 3.15V.

It's voltage display on the charger, still testing with cell 2.

I hope that Keygos cells are IMR with PCB

Oh OK then... It probably wouldn't hurt to meter the voltage just to double check. If your 3.3V is more like 3.45 (like it is with my charger) then the protection circuit is not really letting the cell run to its fully discharged capacity. So... it could be a 4-4.5Ah cell, with a 3Ah protection circuit.

need to test them above 1 amp Wink

Depending on final cost, I could through in some "electronic money" for such a worthy cause.

2nd that! kickum all too the curb! As "Chris Rock" would say "I"m tarred of it!"

Keith (Who is tarred of it as well)

Hahaha read even further!!

HAHAHA

Welcome to the club, Sparky.

Got my ebay moli cells.

all read ~3V

I've cycled the first cell 3 1/2 times, once at 1A charge/discharge for ~860mah. I switched to 0.5A charge/discharge for 2nd and 3rd cycles. 4th charge I got ~1350mah in. Running discharge now.

Going to try the other two cells tomorrow and if they're all like that I might have to talk to the seller...

There has only been a little bit of intrest sofar.
