I accidentally inserted a flat-top 14500 the wrong way for a few seconds. Now, the flashlight smells burnt. It still works fine. But when my light is turned off for a while, it feels warm to the touch unlike my Astrolux S3. I think it is also draining my battery.
Is my EDC05 broken? Any help on how to fix this?
The edc05 does not advertise reverse polarity protection … some of their lights dont have it

I just purchased a Lumintop ODF30 Flashlight from Amazon, and 2 Keep Power IMR26650 5200mAh batteries. I charged fully then put the battery in and closed it, and when I pressed the power button nothing happened.
I unscrewed the tail cap and smoke came out and it smelt very bad, and the battery felt warm. Does this flashlight not have reverse polarity protection, or was it shorted when I got it? I’m assuming it got fried and ‘let the magic smoke out’

Did u use a protected bat?
Chances are something has shorted inside and is causing the heat
I would STOP using it, especially with an unprotected bat
