SST-50 Flashlight coming from Mrlite!

agreed with fran82!! hehehe. very eager to see :D

Can he get XM-L's? Should be a much more cost efficient way of getting same results. Smaller circuit, lower cost, same brightness.

If they were actually available. It might be possible to get them in a month, it might not. Till then.....

I wonder if that C8 from KD is really a SST-90...

Maybe, but kind of worthless since there's no way you can hold it if driven at anywhere near full power.

In any case, even if you get it for the emitter, I have no idea why anyone'd spend money on a sst-90 with no clue about its bin/tint, etc. It's not like wasting $10 on a crap xp-g. It's also likely not a SSR, so the soldering job is suspect.

If you want an sst90 emitter without the flashlight ... there are cheaper ways with binning ... I wondered more because of the size of the light, battery configuration and inferior heatsinking...

Yes, except you don't want the SST's unless you're sure you can mount them properly. You'd want these:

We already had that discussion with xp.1337.. remember?

But now people know where to buy the right one. :)

Those sevens ones are lower bin poor tint. WL is 30% less WN, or about 4 cree bins apart. DE/DF is also the worse possible cold tint

Too big for an sst50. Is almost the same size as the intimidator, I beleive

Will need 2x18650 and this thick head if really is driven at 4.6A

That's true. A small size body couldn't handle the heat if it's truly driven by 4.6A.

Also it would need a IMR cell if the configuration was 1x18650...

Nice! Thank you for those pictures, juhi81. This is obviously going to be a pretty top-heavy light but considering that this isn't a weapon light, I think I can live with that. ;) As long as it's reasonably priced and doesn't cook itself, put me down for a couple.

I very much look forward to finding out a release date and a price :) it looks great! really hope it works the sst-50 to its potential!

wish it was geared towards 34570. while not as common, they would last a respectable amount of time at 5 amps

Still a nice light indeed.......wonder if there will be an available op reflector as well.

we need some prices yo!

Hi, thinking of buying a MRLite flashlight due to their 9 mode drivers and strong bodies. They offer only up to r5 led on Lightake. Would it be wise to get one I5 for $40 or should I wait a couple of weeks for an XML Mrlite I5?

I also think of getting a KC-05. Is it that good as the specs with 1xAAA or 180lm for LiIon only?

The specs are 14500. If you halve them you'll get the approximate output on a AAA. That said, I quite like the KC-05 and it's on my keychain.
