What was your best/favorite/coolest flashlight of 2019? Top 5 announced!

FW3A and LT1

Handheld:

1st: Jaxman E3 w/ Nichia 5700 90CRI. 'Cause I'm weak when it comes to fine & rugged 1xAA lights.

Runner-up: FW3A WW. It's said that one always remembers their "first"; this is my first Anduril, first BLF collaboration, first pocket rocket, first time I've waited years for a flashlight.

Headlight:

1st: Acebeam H40 SST 20. See above my weakness for 1xAA. Also has the overhead strap. One around-the-head strap is a deal killer for me regardless how good the light is.

Runner-up: YLP Panda 2M CR. 'Cause very good floody, high CRI. If it had somehow, miraculously been 1xAA it would have taken 1st.

WK30. LH351D in white, plus red and UV to play with, kewl modes for each (including the red+white “police strobe”), what’s not to love?

Category: Maximum combined power and throw: .

Imalent R90TS. I waited 2.5 years for something to top the X65, and Imalent did so, with 36000 lumens and 1750 meters throw.

My favorite lights of the year:

FW3A for EDC category.

BLF-D80v2 for compact thrower category.

Acebeam K30 GT from Andrew-Amanda.

That is gorgeous! Very nice choice on MokuTi. Do you have a link to the project? :+1:

EDC: BLF FW3A.
Thrower: Astrolux FT03 (pick any emitter)
Coolest: BLF LT1 or IF25 tint ramping.

What I want for 2020: FW4A with tint ramping! :smiling_imp:

M43 in 219c still my favorite multi cell light.

D4v2ti is my new favorite single cell light.

D4 sst-20 4000k updated with custom buck driver, then updated with fd2 tint LEDs. Pocket daemon convinced to work all 2019 as a amazing illumination tool.

FW’1’A
W30 acebeam
Not cool. Both are as warm as possible.

C01 3200k. If it has to be a single mode aaa light this is it!

Most fun: Acebeam X80

Most used: Wurkkos WK30

CRX Rotary. (Upgraded version)

Well, I hate to be unoriginal, and a copycat, but these are my exact two favorites of the year as well, exactly as RC categorized them. If I had to be a little more specific, I would say FW3A with XPL HI, and D80v2 with SST-40.

New to flashlights, but got some great lights this year. Hard to chose, but the winners are:
D4Svn and LT1.
Thanks to all of you for informing and helping us find what we need and like.

The Astrolux FT03 and the Emisar D4S V2 have been the standouts for me in 2019.

That's what I have as well.

I would rather have the D80v2 with an XHP50.2, but I don't plan on getting that upgrade.

Those are a lot of nice lights, sounds like 2019 was fun for you(:

I’m curious about the SC31b- I’ve never used one, but on paper it seems like the EC01 makes it obsolete. Can you tell me if that is correct? I don’t know why I’d buy or gift an SC31b when the EC01 exists. The SC31b seems to do many things well, but not much extraordinary, or better than the competition.

I’ll throw in the Nightwatch NSX3 NS53A as one of the 2019 pocket rockets that I’m really interested in

Would like to see a category of coolest and most used flashlight of 2019.

For me the Tool 2.0 carry it everyday most days with Eneloop but lately with Efest 14500.

Neatest gadget is without a doubt the Wurkkos WK30 but I do not carry it daily so it has limited use.

The BLF LT lantern is cool as all sheet but will use it mostly in the summer so it also has limited use as of now. Am looking forward the the deflector and some of the other accessories in pre-production.

Most used in bedroom is Sofirn C01S in Raw with the L-H modes, killer tint and just everything about it fits.

Most used for WOW factor is BLF Mini, people can’t believe it and want to know where to get one when they see it.

Also digging on the SST40 BLF D80 but again haven’t really dove into the 347 different settings just yet. Life gets in the way.
Looking forward to Christmas time off to mod some flashlights, have a ton of emitters from the free ship deal a while back consisting of Samsung 351D’s and Luxeon, etc…

All for now, thanks for the great Thread!
