What is happening with China Post ?

I just bought a pencil case from Keanu Reeves

He knows kung fu!

I don’t know if it adds to the discussion or it’s just my bad day.

I’m having 2 orders from different sellers that has been “delivered” to the airline but is not appearing in my country’s airport nearly a month since.

:person_facepalming:

All this talk about tracking packages from China got me thinking about the bad old days. Any geezers here will relate to this. The old way of ordering things was quite different when I was a kid. Catalogs ruled the day. Cut out the order form. Fill in the catalog numbers long hand. Add up the total. Go to the tax and shipping charge charts and total up again. Write a check. Drop in mail. Wait 4- 6 weeks. Go to the post office one day and there it is. Usually didn’t take 6 weeks but they were covering their butts. Shipped from a couple states away. Just a little perspective.

Did you order during 11.11?
1 of my order during 11.11 with China Post is missing after “Departed country of origin”.
While my 2 other orders on Black Friday, 1 received last week while another has reached my country post pending delivery.

I don’t think this is anything new for this month. I ordered 4 things from BG a few months ago, and 2 of them were sent back according to tracking. Eventually, I guess BG resent them again. They arrived a week or two later than the other packages. Maybe it’s China enforcing labeling rules or something. None of my packages contained batteries.

OTOH, EMS stuff seems to fly through, no problems. I think it’s something to do with free or cheap shipping options. They usually don’t label that stuff accurately.

This is bureaucracy in a demonstration of its power…

Updating… The package returns again…

Same here.
This is now happening to all orders that arrive in Beijing.
I have like 12 orders in this situations.
I asked the sellers what is happening and nobody responds.
It seems to be a major issue in China and there isn’t anyone from China who knows what is going on?

2-3 years ago in Australia everything changed with freight times, just so happens there was a business person lobbying the goverment to change things to make it harder to buy OS. Since that person got their way things slowed down dramatically and not just from china. So the problem may not necessarily be on the retailers end.

Wellp, these were just delivered today. Coupla days ago appeared out of nowhere at ISC New York or wherever, and now bang-bang-bang, delivered.

I remember there used to be more informative updates, like every single step of the way (handed over to airline, arrived stateside, arrived at customs, gone through customs, handed to USPS, blah blah blah) but now it’s just the Big Milestones. So no wonder people are going bald pulling out their hair trying to figure out where their packages might be.

When I was in the service, the only approved way to ship classified information was USPS first class. I could legally take a SECRET research report, wrap it in brown paper, address it, and mail it to the recipient. It was recommended that we get Signature Confirmation, but once it was handed across the post office counter we had no idea where it was until it arrived a couple of days later. We were legally forbidden from sending the same information FedEx or Airborne, where we could track every time it changed hands and it would arrive the next day. Got to protect the Post Office monopoly!

Lightbringer - you were lucky, I ordered the shorty tubes from Amazon (77 Outdoor Shop) at the same time and the tubes just kept cycling in transit until I sent them a note on 12/24 asking what was going on.

77OS (Zoe) was responsive, explaining that the tubes had been finally returned to sender for some anomalous reason and offered a refund.

Hopefully I can still get the tubes.

Where were the other suppliers for the shorty tubes , I remember the initial post describing suppliers but can’t find it.

Mmm, no idea; don’t recall any original post. Muto told me about the tubes and what they fit, saw there were like 3 sets left, so grabbed one set as soon as I could.

China Post has become very bad. The Ali site, after the update, closed the possibility of live communication (online) with the support service. I’m sad

Not sure if this will shed any light but the response I got was:

“The original package was been returned as the shipping way was closed by the shipping company recently”

Maybe there has been a shakeup in the shipping process recently without the info available to the suppliers. If a package was assigned a shipping path and there was no existing physical infrastructure at some point to accept the package, it just bounced back and forth between intermediary shipping nodes.

I have an AliExpress order made on 11.11 to ship with China Post Registered Air Mail via Beijing. It has been rejected, returned then re-submitted 4 times due to unclear reason of ‘Security return’…and now it seems still sitting somewhere in Beijing (not on the cargo plane). I don’t think it can make its way out of Beijing airport so opened a dispute and got full refund.

Strange thing is that my other similar orders made just a few minutes apart from a different seller however got quickly processed (with the same route and post service) and delivered without any issue.

Best thing to do with china post orders is just sit back and forget about them for a couple of months , if it still hasnt arrived by then its never going to and you should open a dispute

I did once have a parcel turn up 5 months after dispute had been closed, god only knows where it had been, the moon perhaps?

I really don’t want to open disputes for refunds, because I used some coupons with significat discounts, and I will loose them :frowning:
Plus the prices were lower on 11.11…
I don’t understand why the sellers refuse to re-ship the products. That way they keep the $ and not get a 1* rating

They don’t care about a 1* rating. They delete those reviews, if you’re talking about ordering from Chinese sites. Very few negative reviews get to stick around.
