I'm looking for a bedside light with the following specifications, and would love to take any suggestions:
Stable tailstand
Several low modes (example: 2, 10, 20, 50 lumens), programmable lows, or infinitely adjustable output
Very efficient with very long runtime, but exact LED model isn't important
1-3 AA/AAA rechargeable or 1-2 18650 batteries
Prefer flood beam
< $40, but cheaper is always fine
Durability/looks are not critical concerns
I don't care about the max brightness or light color as much as long as it isn't too artificial looking
I'm not in a hurry and will buy from anywhere that ships to the United State
I've found some fairly close lights, but nothing ideal just yet (it is hard finding something with several low modes or adjustable brightness).

Three options I can think of right away:
Akoray K-106 programmable from Kaidomain. Tailstands, 1xAA, all three modes are programmable from ~10 lumens - ~80 lumens on 1xAA.

~$20 shipped
ITP C7R. Tailstands, 1xAA, programmable output from 6-80 lumens on 1xaa, 6-190 lumens on 1x14500. You can't program out the Strobe and SOS modes like you can with the Akoray, but it's also got a lower low. Unfortunately this model has been discontinued from ITP so if you want it, jump on it.

With code CPFUSER, the price is about $32 shipped.
Maratac AA from Countcomm. 1xAA, not programmable but a super-low low mode (1.5 lumens) with 60 hours of runtime. This is a modified ITP A2 EOS that moves the keychain attachment away from the tail so it can tailstand.

$30 + shipping
These will all be relatively floody in that none of them have super-deep reflectors.
Hi there,
I second the opinion on the Akoray K-106 .
I also would recommend the BLF AA-Y4E , although it's not exactly a floodlight.
The Ultrafire UF-H2 is as close to perfect as you can get, it just is a tad bit pricey at $32.90.
Hope this helps! Cheers.

Have you checked MrLite lights? They have 9 modes with true lows. Just under $40 :)

Are they different than the drivers in Solarforce's Skyline series? They were said to be very flickery

Skyline has the driver in the tailcap - mine work fine ...
This is the driver in the pill - Got my 2nd one ... It should do what you ask ..
I put this one into a L2 clone with 2 18650 extensions for 4xAA
It can be 1 x 18650 or 2 x 18650 if you wish ...
