mmmmm Good looking and compact zooming flashlight

EDI-T, hope it will not increase the price 200% as the other EDI-T

3 mode, CR123/16340 compatible, very compact, EDI-T quality.........

Well, if you like it you should probably jump at it. It's got the same issue the other Edi-T lights had in that it's an older model with a Q3-binned emitter - I suspect the price will increase soon.

There is a powerful AA/14500 Romisen too:

It looks (rated) even higher than a 18650 zoom flashlight, 180 lumens. Tested the quality of a Romisen previously and it really was a quality item. I hope this follows this rule too.

i really like this one too, and i am very tempted, but how much longer can it be before we see something like this with an R2?

Who knows but the general consensus here was there is almost no differnece going from q5 to a r2 in terms of percieved brightness even less noticeable in zoomies.

From a q3 might be worth it but don't expect miracles.

In a zooming, more than a Q5 (R2, or xpg-R5) is something.... let me call it... "non-sense"

Some manufacturers even pick some older but smaller emitters to put into throwers. They give tighter spots, though lower lumens overall.

Overdriven P4 still packs a punch when desgined as a thrower. Lumens wise arent that appealing on paper.

Ordered mine yesterday, 30s after discovering it :) I love the 16340 form factor and I am very fond of the EDI-T P4 (18650) featuring a XRE-Q3, I got it when it was still cheap. Q3 vs. Q5 does not matter too much, LED model, driver and thermal design are much more important and for 12$ I think it is adequate. I am really looking forward to this. It may even replace my Akoray K-109 which I so dearly love. :)

By the way, there is something I have noticed in many posts: I am not sure if everybody sees the difference between the LED model (Cree XRE or XPE/XPG) and the lumous flux rating Px, Qx, Rx, Tx. A XRE-Q5 is totally different from a XPE-Q5, the XRE has a thrower characteristic, the XPE is a flooder type LED. Apparently, people write "Q5" when they really mean "XRE-Q5" (thrower) and "R2" when they really mean "XPE-R2" (flooder). Same luminous flux, but different LED model! I assume next thing will be "T6" instead of "XML-T6". Please, people get this straight...

I just ordered a NF-500 from KD. I've heard it was a burning hot one :)
