Banggood order kept being returned by failing customs security check

dont buy lights with battery, buy the battery local instead and the light wont get rejected due to strict US customs on batteries it seems…

I just had a package returned to Banggood due to security failure to pass custom’s, or something like that. I had no tracking on it. It was same time frame, ordered Mid November. It was an astrolux EC01, no battery. I had an astrolux FT03 with battery make it through to me before. I’m really getting frustrated with the chinese sites and shipping. I know Fireflies has a usa warehouse base from there ff-light.com website, and Sofirn is on Amazon. I’m probably going to give there flashlights priority if they will do what I want. I like the convoy, and Astrolux, brands as they are a good value for the money, but the retailers and shippers are driving me nuts.

Banggood should have contacted me when it failed custom’s, and not wait for me to contact them.

I wanted the astrolux EC01, seemed like a good deal for the money, but a fireflies E07, or E01, or Sofirn C8f will work fine too. I just want a nice side switch light with good ramping and a little floodier than the convoy C8+, but similar size.

When there is no tracking they will always say “security failure to pass custom’s, returned by postal, etc.”
A lot of times it really means they took more orders than they could handle or procure.
Did the same to me a few weeks back and were more than willing to refund which tells you the truth right there.
Next shipment showed tracking that the first order should have and it is now in country, so all is well but still frustrating that we have to contact them for the lack of shipping progress, comes with the China sales territory.
Later,

Keith

I just received an email from Banggood claiming one of my recent orders (for 3 flashlights, no batteries) “failed security check when passing the customs office.” IMHO, this is a bogus excuse. There was no tracking information and there hadn’t been enough time for a package to reach the USA and “fail a security check” with U.S. Customs.

I don’t know if Banggood just didn’t want to honor the discount prices on those lights, was out of stock after claiming they were in stock or some other reason. But I don’t believe that “failed security check” twaddle.

unless usa has more strict customs now when it comes to stuff from china, maybe thats the reason or ? if a light gets rejected for whatever reason and there is no battery then i cant explain that really… a light with no battery inside is no threat really…

What I think could have happened is they had more orders than lights, so they cancelled the orders with the better sale price, and used them to fill orders with a higher sale price to make more money. I don’t trust the chinese retailers.

Who is (allegedly) rejecting the shipments: US Customs or Chinese Customs? I believe exports from China have to be cleared by Chinese Customs - at least a few of my tracked shipments passed through Chinese Customs before being forwarded to my country and local Customs.

Finally got one of my mid Nov orders, just a Miboxer C8 charger that took about 6 weeks to get to the US. I believe Banggood mentioned it was the Chinese customs that was performing the security check where my other order failed (USPS priority shipping). I’m leery now of any order without a tracking number. With tracking number, you can use 17track.net or even usps.com for tracking.

I asked Banggood about shipping using EMS or ePacket. They don’t offer ePacket, and charges a ridiculously high price for EMS (select EMS for each of the items in your cart to see the cost)

Best of luck for those have outstanding orders.

thats a possibility yes…

^ Banggood is not so stingy. They are not a run of the mill small business. Thinking in such pettiness would not have crossed my mind. Randomly accusing a merchant of devious behaviour without exploring so many possibilities is, nefarious.
Another item of note, if there is no manifest (item description), this could trigger a customs security check. Without a tracking number assigned, the paperwork was hastily done and so the parcel contents not disclosed.
In the two years I’ve done business with BangGood, there is but one instance where the parcel was lost. They offer me a credit or resent. The later was my choice and without fees.

Also got my order cancelled due to security check. My order was marked shipped with no tracking info, and a week later when I emailed them for it, they finally responded with the cancellation. I suspect they didn’t want to honor the price with the coupon that was provided here.

With regard to these problems, I have come to the conclusion that if you ask what is happening they will take the problem out of the easiest way: canceling.
All my parcels that were sent from China (via CN post) had that problem, some returned several times, but are finally arriving.
Some package took more 2 months from the shipping email.

I never asked what was happening, I just let it run.

.

Same thing just happened to me - ordered a light on 12/25 (no battery), it shipped out on 12/27, I asked where the tracking number was a few days ago, and they said it had been “returned to them for unforseeable reasons” - at what point were they going to tell me that? At first I was thinking it may still show up in my mailbox even after the refund, seeing as they don’t appear to have their act together, but now that I see all these posts about failing customs, I’m thinking its not very likely.

it seems to affect usa orders, guess something is causing it so chose different shipping options.

I too had an order “returned due to the failure of security check when passing the customs office”. I had to contact them when it passed the ‘delivery expected’ date. They responded with ‘choose another delivery method or request refund’ in an email. I chose another shipping method and got an email again saying the same thing. I replied the same and got another email with ‘choose another delivery method or request refund’. I gave up and requested refund and had the refund by 11/10/19. I paid for shipping insurance too. $200.99 discount with coupon from here. Definitely the most I’ve paid for a light. It wasn’t easy to pry that out of my wallet but it’s the brightest light in the world, right? They threw in a free charger when the order was placed. Had my money for a month and a half. I declare shenanigans. Ordered same from Neal with Black Friday discount and had it in two weeks (no free charger though). Have three more orders with BG placed Nov 19 2019, Dec 22 2019 and Dec 25 2019 which have not arrived yet but have shipped, supposedly. No tracking information on those at all (Why?). I’m not ordering anything more until they arrive. I thought tariff revenge but that really doesn’t make sense after thinking about it. First problem I’ve had with them in 45 orders but I’m putting BG last on my list of vendors. I don’t think they like to see those coupon codes. I have had items in ‘processing’ status with coupon discounts for weeks when the item page says in stock. Ya pays your money and ya takes your chances.

I, too, have just had this happen with a MF01 Mini (no battery) from Banggood. Something strange is certainly going on. Either they’re messing up paperwork, have switched to a pickier package handler, or something unusual.

My astrolux FT03 had been cancelled 2 times now. No battery the second time… /SMH … I can order all sorts of magpul knock offs all day long, LPK’s, scopes, replacement barrels. Car parts to cars not even available in the united states, No problem.

I can order tritium vials for my flash lights,

I can order medical supplies to include needles, saline, antibiotics for my fish, blood clotting agents, band aids,

Just no flash lights.

I’ve got a November order for an fw3a in the same boat. Stuck in China after returned for security scince Jan 6. I’m in Canada, and did not order a battery

My orders from BangUgood on Dec.25th were delivered Jan.15th no issues, no batteries either….

Banggood’s shipping option is their biggest weakness. If you pick a shipping option without tracking, it’s very likely it will fail the customs security check. The problem is that they don’t offer ePacket, which is the cheapest and quickest way to get things to the US (I recently had an Aliexpress order that arrive in the US after 8 days using ePacket shipping); and that their EMS option is outrageously expensive.

I’m wondering Banggood has any reps here so we can give them some feedback about their lackluster shipping.
