Almost all of these from DX -> to me have had blemishes on emitters, so be adviced, they probably are not the most perfect ones...
Thanks. I don't expect it to be perfect by any means. But worst case, I'll do my own mods to it. One thing it will certainly need (from what I've read) is better heating sinking, i.e. good layer of thermal compound under the star, and possibly a new heat sink.

well, now it's too late for warnings, already ordered...
While I used this light on my bike I never had problems with the heat, even while running on 100% for more than 20 minutes. However, SSC-P7 version which I also used had a noticeable warming but I never experienced that the light lowers its output to prevent overheating...

Could you please clarify what you mean by "you never had problems"? Are you meaning the light never got warm, or it became warm, but not really hot? In my experience, any XML light driven reasonable well is going to get warm, which is a good sign of heatsinking. My concern is if the light does NOT get warm at all, which would indicate the heat is not being properly removed from the LED/Driver pill. This could potentially be harmful for both if exposed to that much heat for excessive periods.

My only objection to this light is that it has no MID mode, just very HI and moderate LO and of course annoying STROBE!!! Before this offer by DX I wanted to order this one from MF just because of better mode arrangement...

They cancelled it because of pricing the item wrong and send me back the money, but only after 1,5 months waiting to get to know they would cancel.
That sounds reasonable if you were on a ride and the air was actively cooling the head down. I still plan to crack it open and ensure adequate thermal paste is present between star and heatsink. I also want to redo the optic system to make it more floody - no sense having a spotlight in front.

The price of the clone is more realistic and I wouldn't expect it to be cancelled because it was priced too low. Only question is...how long will it take?

I ordered some other things on 26/04 and on 27/04 I got email that "The available portion has been shipped first. The rest will be shipped later." and this offer ended on 24/4!!!
