MF01 Mini / MT07- Mod/Upgrade - Copper Heatsink Cover Plate

Yes, please let us know. I was planning on paste……

Please put me down for two from the second batch. Thanks!

For me the combination of the two worked best this way:

The heatsink plate is generally designed for usage with thermal compound paste, I would still recommend to use it this way.

Both thermal contacting methods will work well, if the installation is properly done and there will be no differences in the runtime performance or thermal effectiveness.

Good quality thermal pads are mostly more expensive than a high quality thermal compound paste.

I will take 2 of them

I’ll take one !

Interested...

I received mine, 3 pieces. Thank you man of light. Will install them after I flash it later. Hopefully I’ll post some pics as well. They look great! :+1:

If I have the lamp and the copper plate, I consider whether I should use a graphite cooling pad instead of the MX4 paste because of the mess when I open the lamp again, what do you think.
Graphite cooling pad should conduct better than a thermopad?.
What is the distance between the copper plate and the housing?

Graphite pads are electrically conductive, might not be a problem in large CPUs where you just cut them short near the edge of the professor, but it might be a problem with this small AMCs. Plus it might be hard getting them to touch the copper and all chips without touching the PCB and any component they might short.

I will take 1 please.

As Dr. Phillip has already explained, graphite cooling pads are electrically conductive, so not optimally suited for this application.

If you mean the distance between the outer circumference diameter of the heatsink plate and the head body, there is only a gap of 0.2 - 0.3 mm in the production version of it.

Could you Hang the plans and measurements of the copper plate in the forum?
Thank you.

Ok, so I’m going to buy some thermal paste (maybe like the MX4). I see a lot of area to cover and some looks heavily applied in the pictures. How much do I actually need. Will a 4gram tube be enough? An 8gram tube? And whatever paste I get should not be electrically conductive (even minimally) correct? Please excuse my inexperience in this type of thing.

\Interested in the second batch for 3

Do you mean a technical drawing with full dimensions? Or what kind of measurements?

You will need only a tiny bit of it, approx less then 0.5g per heatsink. With a 4g tube I was able to mount three cpu coolers and four times a MF01 Mini heatsink plate.
Yes, it must be a non-electrically conductive type, but most types of thermal paste are not electrically conductive anyway.

Yes, a technical drowing with its dimension. I would be grateful. Thank you.

Thanks!

I’ve updated the post #1 and postet the currently valid drawing for the production version. Now the project gets kind of “open source” status.

Okey, thank you man of light!!!
