Checked mine today, in OFF it also draws 0.005A and on tail i have 5-6A...
It sure as hell doesn’t look bright for 4600lumens claimed.
Will try with different battery but at first glamce this is hardly updated FT02.
Freeme please take some steps about this GB or edit your first post. A lot of crap in this one

Doesn't sound good to me. I have already forwarded your findings to Banggood.

Just received the FT02 XHP70.2 awhile ago, haven’t had time to test it much, but I did some simple measurements – and was mostly underwhelmed by the result… Ceiling bounce with lux meter, I estimate the max brightness is around 3000 lumens only (far from the claimed 4600 lumens). Again these are just my rough estimates comparing with other flashlights (if I compare with my ceiling bounce lux meter reading of FT03 with XHP50.2 has a significantly higher reading, or even a Convoy M3 with XHP70.2 also gives a higher lux reading). Again, my lux meter reading and ceiling bounce are not accurate, but hopefully gives some idea… (my unscientifically-controlled ceiling bounce test in a small enclosed room with a lux meter: FT02 XHP70.2 ~ 3000+ lux FT03 XHP50.2 ~ 4000+ lux M3 XHP70.2 ~ nearly 4000 lux) I measure only about 7-8 Amps tailcap current (how much lumens approximately would 7-8Amps tailcap current on an XHP70.2 flashlight give out)? (I’m using a fully-charged Liitokala Lii-40A 4000mah 21700 battery only when I measured the tailcap current; it’s not a very high-drain 21700 battery… but still…) Also tried measuring the parasitic drain, and it has indeed high parasitic drain – I measured 4-5mA (0.004-0.005A), even though the LED is not “breathing” pattern. So that means it does have a high parasitic drain.

Well, looks like my driver went POOOOF few hours after i got this.
Swaped mcpcb with emitter for Rngwn’s GT-FC40 and all i got is this on turbo:

Sooooo, Freeme, would you be so kind and talk to Astrolux about sending replacement drivers?
Mine was still pulling 5.5A with new cell upon arrival so i’d say 1ish Amp to emitter which matched weak output on turbo.

Even before you opened it, 5.5A on the battery will get you nowhere near 4000lm, or even 3000. Maybe 1800 or so, max. That is actually close to the XHP35 version.

Oh yeah and FT02 2020 comes with MICRO USB!
Not USB-C as posted in first post.
To summerize: either BG shipped total crap by mistake or they intentionally sell crap.

Freeme can you ask BG for an explanation? This is not acceptable.

Some comparison beamshots (not taken at the same time) of Astrolux FT02 XHP70.2 5000k vs Convoy M3 XHP70.2 5000k vs Astrolux FT03 XHP50.2 5700k:
Astrolux FT02 XHP70.2 doesn't appear to perform any better than the Convoy M3 XHP70.2

I did inform BG on Jan 16 but i have not heard from them yet. Holiday shutdown is not over for them.
Mine is saying shipped 12/28 but still haven’t received.

I can’t find any written, or video reviews on this FT02 XHP70.2 .
If you know of any, please attach the link/s here. I am interested how it compares to the Cree XHP35 variant, which there are plenty of reviews on.

If you look on the previous page of the thread, you will see that there are some major issues with it.
The parasitic drain hasn’t been fixed
The output is barely more than the XHP35 variant
The driver is micro-usb rather than usb-c as previously advertised
I suspect that they used the XHP35 driver by mistake. I hope they can sort this out soon. Until then, however, I wouldn’t recommend buying this.

Not a review, but beamshots comparison

I also guess they used the FT02 XHP35-Hi driver for the FT02S XHP70.2, because I'm measuring only around 7 Amps max current on Turbo mode for the FT02S XHP70.2 (I don't have the FT02 XHP35-Hi on hand now for comparison though...)
The XHP70.2 LED will need more current supplied to reach the high lumens to make it really shine. At 7 Amps only, the XHP70.2 is barely as bright as an XHP50.2... and also produces a more floody beam.

Oh my goodness. Are customers getting refunds, because of the problems with the FT02 HXP70.2 model?

I always enjoy your beam shot videos. I did see these videos already, thank you.
