Test / Review: TrustFire TF26650 5000mAh (Flame)

thanks!!!

Were there any other indications or markings to potentially differentiate the two cells?

Thanks again for the well-presented review.

This batteries aren't supposed to be fakes? I thought the ones from MF was genuine

I've got a pair of them coming from CNQG, it is good to know they are 4000mAh being protected, and being able to give about 7A.

Compared to the one benckie tested, these looks better. They have higher voltage during the 3A discharge. This might also be due to resistance in benckie's wires and magnets, the voltage difference is about 0.1 volt, only 0.03 ohm is needed for that at 3A.

With the photos I have posted benckie or anyone else that got these batteries from Manafont, can probably tell if there are any difference in the wrapping or construction.

This is why I spend so much time here ! Thanks HKJ

I always bookmark HKJ's reviews.

Yeah i think my main charge leads, soldering and the rare earth magnets might make a slight diffrence, but still good for reference as 0.1 volt is not much.

Im not confindent DX will maintain sending out good cells and it might end up like the trustfire flame 18650,s they where selling.

The cell i tested i belive is a 100% geniune cell, i have pulled apart the cell to confirm, to see pictures of the cell i tested and striped look here (Manafont cell not DX)

I do like to get it included, that was the reason I did my setup with separate measuring wires.

I do believe that both DX and Manfont did change to a worse 3000mAh battery.

And it might have higher capacity than the DX one, at least you measure more capacity that I do.

It is interesting to see the pictures of the PCB protection.

Thanks to both of you, HKJ and benckie. It's great seeing side by side comparisons - really adds to the knowledge base for the community.

Yep! Thanks both HKJ and Benckie for their work. Really liked the discharge tests showing 4500mah!!

Just a thought between the DX and manafont version:

It seems like Benckie's battery (pic above) from manafont has a hologram sticker below the negative symbol, whereas HKJ's DX doesn't (Opening Post).

What is the deal there? Hmmm..

I just got 4 of them with my TF X100 order. Randomly picked one of them and got 4196mAh @ 1A discharge down to 2.8V, 1st cycle.

FYI fellas, DX has them for US$18.90 now. Price drop from ~ US$23. Hmmm, wonder why…

Looks what a strange shape the plus pole has now compared to older pics in the thread, sure something is different in this new batch! Better or worse cannot say without testing, but sure they aren't the same they were before.

Just took delivery of two trustfires from ebay seller £10.88.and two from amazon £13+.
when my bt-c3100 charger arrived i decided to capacity test them just to make sure they are all around 4400mah.
To my amazement they are all 5000mah+….5166,5149,5208,and a shocking 5360mah.
not sure which battery came from where ,but if my charger is working correctly this would indicate trustfire have upped the ante on battery capacity/value.! not sure how to add photo,s but rest assured i took some .and will happily email attach.IMGP0737!

Greetings Darkness,
I thought I was losing it here.
Just picked up a pair of TF 26650’s from E-Bay for $15 delivered.
Charged and tested drain 2x with my iMax B6.
I ran 2 charge up and down cycles then did final tests on both.
Capacity was 5427 & 5398mAh for the 2 batteries at 1 amp draw down to 3.0v.
I thought my B6 was off….
I do have pics of the charge results I can try to get up, or I can E-Mail.
Cheers

added item 2-3-15: I noticed that my tested was stopping at 330 minutes. Found a cutoff timer was stopping test before complete. Changed timer to 360 minutes and capacities went up.

Added I-Max B6 discharge test pics with 360 minute timer:

@dno36,

Who’s the ebay seller?
Please post your more usage experience.

yeah, which item
I’d expect 500mAh from ebay, not over 5000.

I was really expecting something in the range of 4000mAh for these, but ran them 2x each through my B6 to test.

Batteries test OVER 5000mAh……wow

LOL the last line is what I posted in my purchase note on the item, not from the seller.

My pic at test time:

The seller info is in the thread now.

What does “Please post your more usage experience.” mean?
