Yes, even-though the name sounds funny this is one of the better brands in the world of Chinese jump-starters… I have one, not this model and its pretty good at what it does. Mine is many years old and still holds good charge and was one of the first one to support quick charge input and output.
I also have a Gooloo jump starter. I have used it about 5 times with different people. It always works and the battery last a very long time. I might get another one for my wife.
Thanks!
Just snagged 1, as my lawn mower needed a jump last weekend, which involved a 2 vehicle juggle, and then tearing apart 2 totes to find my cables.
Sure, but I think there is more to it. I think the car jumpers have additional capacitors in order to help deliver huge amounts of current to help crank the engine. Your typical power bank can’t do that.
i took apart a $50 broken one, no caps, just 3 flat prismatic li iron phosphate cells
caps that size would not provide more than .1 sec of what a starter needs
the batteries have to do all the work
i was just saying, the power bank function is a side benefit of these things
Thanks! Just ordered one. Truck battery is 4 years old but struggles below 0 degrees F lately. Do need to replace it. Have older batteries on tenders which sometimes need help in very cold weather. Will report back when it arrives and gets used. Others I was considering are twice as much. Audew is what I was looking at. Amazon.com
What mah rating is the Gooloo rated at? Didn’t notice what it was on the Amazon discription. I could have overlooked it I guess.
Edit- It’s 15000 mah. Just looked on their website. There isn’t a 1500a model but it looks like their gp1500 which is supposed to be a new release. Not sure if they are different. Specs look the same or close. I grabbed one just because they seem to get good reviews and “really” work.
It is the GP1500 model. 1500A is just a peak current rating.
By the way, does anyone know if the connector pictured below (in blue) is the industry standard EC-5 type? I wanted to pick up a cigarette lighter adapter for it. It looks like EC-5 to me, but some people said otherwise.
