BLF Black spot

I received my Mr.Lite BLF a little while ago, it’s a fairly impressive unit besides one thing: There’s this big dark area in the middle of the beam.
Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Very strange. Carefully inspect the emitter, reflector and lens for any imperfections.

Carefully , dis assemble ... Have you got modified needle nosed pliers ?

What do you mean by modified needle nosed pliers? I’m new to the flashlight biz, so I’ve never taken one of these apart before.
Here’s another picture to give a bit more of an idea of what the beam does… when I put my finger over the beam the shadow gets sucked into the hole. Would this mean the lense has an imperfection?

I took it apart and found an imperfection on the bubble lense ontop of the emitter, so I polished it a bit with a fiber cloth (no liquid or anything) and seemingly got it removed. Then I put it back together, and the beam won’t fire at all anymore.

You have lost contact ...

The pill needs , to make contact with the battery tube ...

First try swapping the battery tube around [ middle part of flashlight ]

If this does not work , you may need to solder the neg [ - ] board on the driver [ blob ] so that the body will screw onto the solder to complete the circuit .

Im sure I posted a picture somewhere .

Ahh, that bit of solder did the trick. Now after the polishing the issue went away with the black hole, now it’s a very clean beam. Thanks guys!

Happy to be of help ....

Question: When the pill is nice and snug/tight, there's no light but when I loosen it a bit (to where it actually rattles), it works just fine. Why is that?

Length of the battery tube. Some of them are too long and some of them a little short. Put a conductive spacer at the back of the battery to take up the excess length. Then you can tighten up the pill. Don't tighten it too hard or you can dedome the LED. Been there, broken that.

Thanks Don. I love your, "Been there, broken that." :D

Mine worked perfectly out of the box... err... padded enevelope. There were a few who got it faulty tho. Maybe those were rushed a bit to comply with the demand.

with one of my BLF lights after I disassemled the tail cap. The switch is very small and has a lot of free space around. That's why it was off center when I reassemled it (result is no contact to the housing). It's actually quite tricky to get that right again, once you put it back together. I used a disc with a hole, cut out of a piece of cardboard, which I put on the shoulder of the switch as a guide. That worked fine for me.
