Interest collect for a new Sofirn design: tube style18650, magnetic ring control, USB-C charging, 500 lm max (AKA grandma light)

I’m interested in three as long as it turns out to be kid friendly which means not enough lumens to hurt the eyes. If we want to grow the flashaholic community, you gotta get ’em early. I like the ring control too. Clix aren’t for kids.

Hi,
i´m interested in 4 pieces. A wish would be a charging docking and voltage only to 4-4.1V.
greets
André

I’m interested in 2 of these.

I would be in for 3 of these.

I would be interested in a few of these if it is a smooth, fairly floody beam. If it’s a deep reflector and a 300meter beam, I’m out.

The current amount of flashlights interested in, BLF and TLF combined, is 375.

I’m in for a couple. Very interesting and fills a need for many. In addition to the grandma’s of the world, I feel like this is aimed at young budding flashoholics who love Dad’s (or Mom’s) lights, just that none are child friendly.

Well done djozz, looking forward to more information as it becomes available.

I’m interested in one.

This will be nice for the kids.

I am interested,
concept photo would be nice, colors?

I’m afraid that there is nothing yet but specifications. On request of Barry yesterday I made a first structural drawing of how this light could be built and sent it to him. At a later stage I may post the drawing but I must first get the comments of this design back from Sofirn’s engineers, discussing something that will not happen anyway is not so useful.

Thought I had replied but guess not. In for at least one. Thanks djozz et al.

HMM I might be in for 4.

at 500 lumens, what kinda run time on a 3500?
( I just found this 350 post thread)

If a high CRI led is used like the LH351D, I estimate about 1.5A to get 500 lumen, so runtime will be a bit over two hours on the highest setting.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding the concept, but will this kind of be like a larger, High CRI version of a Jetbeam RRT-01? If so, I am very interested!

Good question, it depends on how Sofirn picks this up. If they decide for the infinitely variable ring (it requires a different fairly expensive, more than a dollar, magnetic sensor component, and designing the control for it what they have not done before), it is not far from a 18650 version of the RRT-01, albeit with a bit lower output. If they stick to distinct modes (which is electronically different, probably cheaper and already known to them), it may not look to you like the RRT-01. Mind that the distinct modes outcome is still very much within the scope of this project, for the project I would be happy with that (but I do hope a bit for the variable control because that attracts an extra category of buyers). I hope for a few answers after chinese newyear.

Please add me to the list as a possible buyer.

I am interested in 4.
