Nichia E17A/E21A Skilhunt H04RC Group Buy

No timed step down and ramping the modes up on hold from off instead of that annoying AF electronic lockout would be nice…

Thank you for answering; I ended up playing with my ZL to see how bright 200-ish lumens is and yeah it does seem pretty bright to be honest. I did just buy a “normal” Skilhunt but if this reaches 200+ units for the custom mode/UI I’ll join in.

Thank you for answering my new person questions.

I can not see the pictures either. What do I need to do to see them or can they be reposted?

it’s a bizarre file format. (edit : .heic, new Apple thing apparently)

Thanks thefreeman!

This would make it better. The ability to just hold the button from off to get to the desired brightness is my most used feature in Anduril or Narsil. I always end up locking the H04 or my rofis r1 and r2 because of this. Make lockout 4 clicks or something if it’s possible.

is there any white wall beam shots of the E21A 5000k 9080 and E21A 5700k 9080 please

There are comparison shots in this thread

Any chance of sending a review sample(s) to Flashaholics for a review & comparison?

Flashaholics only knows how to appreciate 5700K tint. He is not a HI CRI and tint fan and does not have equipment to test light quality. What is special about this headlamp is the ultra hi cri E21A emitters. Maukka already tested each one and his test reports are on Virence.com I also tested the same emitters in my Virence.com modded Tiaras and my results are posted in this thread. The performance of the quad E21A in the H04RC should perform the same since it will use the same beaded optic.

I just make a payment via PP...Thank you Clemence.

omg please no, you already have a 3500K it’s basically the same !!! take the 2700K instead and thank me later :sunglasses:

Hi Clemence.
My ordered:
1 of the HO4RC (2x3500K + 2x4500K) and 1 of (2x2000K + 2x4000K) LED module.
I just make a payment via PP…
Thank you.

Thanks Freeman, the pics hosted in my website. It’s not as good and fast as Flickr.

3000K and 3500K still looks totally different side by side. 3500K also brighter

Updated and thanks for the order

[Clemence]

I think that is an inconsiderate thing to say. I know we’ve seen testing of the e21a here. Flashaholics does an excellent job comparing lights to one another and providing a real-world estimate for me from the comfort of my desk. It, along with D_T_A_ and the TLF Bluzie extravaganza, are some of the most valuable beam shots I know of when I am trying to buy a light ‘blind’. I know there has been some talk about tint weirdness. I think it would be pretty valuable to see the quad e21a in action on video, & in a setting that can easily be compared with dozens of other well-known common flashlights/emitters. I think I’d even put some money up for it, either donating a small amount, or buying the lights for myself and shipping them to him first if he was interested (but I do not know of s/h cost from Indonesia to the UK to the USA). A video is a very easy link to point to when the question gets asked, “what is e21a and why do I want one”, and maybe helps promote it to noobs. It is also helpful when we have graciously been offered so many tint customizations. Aside from the e21a caving pictures, I do not believe I’m familiar with many other reviews/comparisons (not including testing, bench style setups, wall beam shots, single pictures, etc.). I would like a quad e21a very much, but would like to know which I would prefer, to maximize my happiness(:

Also, thank you Clemence for another group buy & all the work you put into the CRI hunt and providing a source for people

Well yes, but what I wanted to say is, he already have one with 3500K and if he like warm tint 3000k is not a big step, could try 2700k instead :zipper_mouth_face:

/-just my 2¢-/

2700K E21A has a low R9 value
I already ordered a 2000K module from Clemence so no need for 2700K.
The 3000K E21A is already a bit rosy by itself by my eyes adapt to it making it neutral so I want something even more rosy.

Are you sure about that? The measurements for E21A on Clemence’s website show the 2700K R9 at 98 and the 2000K R9 at 89.

There is already a 2x2000K+2x3000K in my original post you quoted from.

I just tested the 2x2000K + 2x4000K for you. However, the 4000K is the more recent D240 batch, which has a DUV that is on the BBL instead of below the BBL like the older batch. Also this is installed in reflector lights that normally result in more greenish tint compared to TIR optic or beaded optic. If the same emitter was used in the HO4RC or Tiara with beaded optic, the DUV should be a bit more negative than these results.

How difficult would it be to get a Lexel Skillhunt Andruil driver in these?
