BLF LT1M - LT1 Mini (link to project)

Interested in a couple units for sure. Great ideas being kicked around the thread, keep up the good work all!

Update,01,28,2020)
Sofirm sent a couple host lights to work on designing a BLF LT1 Mini project from, one was a SP33, and the other was the IF25. after picking both apart, studying ideas, on boht of the lights, i came to the conclusion the IF25 is a great start host, as it already has tint-ramping, USB-C charging, and single 21700 or 18650 format size. I am currently designing & testing many head diffusers & shades ideas, and working to keep this smaller LT1 as the upfiring factory design, but with a very unique head i designed & am testing. stay tuned for the upcoming video of the birth of the LT1M, the more pocketable, hiker & backpack friendly compact Mini LT1

  • Teaser photo below of the V1 prototype of the LT1M. I hope we can keep the price point of this smaller variant low like the MSRP of the original IF25 it is based from, and will have tint ramping, USB-C charging, and use the same Andruil firmware if we can shoe-horn Toykeeper’s amazing firmware of the LT1 into the Mini.

Interested in two.

Looks awesome!

A 21700 version would be awesome!
Love the LT1, would definitely be in for at least 1 of these even if it’s 18650.

Will they have the same nice LED’s or start from scratch?

The plan is to use the same High-CRI LH351 series 2700K to 5000K LEDs as used in the full size LT1.

Nice :+1:
Did I say I’m in?
Well I’m in for two.

How much output are you considering?

Interested

Probably between 325 to 400 lumens on maximum, (testing is underway with heat and running the host using a 4000 mAh 21700 to determine average run times, heat lad, etc. While the IF25 specs stated an average of 300 to 325 lumens on mode Med#2, and 6.2 hours on the 4000mAh cell from the factory, (they stated 240 lumens on 2700K and 450 lumens on 6500K tint settings at the ramp-ends. Their high mode they claimed 660/1100 lumens for 2.8 hours @ 2700K/6500K (but that’s out the front as a flashlight. In this case as a diffused lantern that output will be lower. If we can achieve 350 lumens with a high mode/mixed tint around 4000K/and get to 5 hours run time average with Audruil firmware, that would be great for such a small version of the LT1.

As you know, I love the lt1s I have. and you may also know I wish it had a powerbank function. if it also had a flashlight function it would be exactly perfect.

Well now with this one, flashlight and powerbank function without being too long would make it perfect as well.

Really excited to see this!! Hope Sofirn goes with colors on this one too. Great going DBSAR!! You’ve created solid products that are making an impact.

Thank you for the support. :+1:
I have been designing, thinking, testing and working on the LT1M (mini) idea for some time, and videos coming soon, as with a new main topic for the LT1M to be posted soon. The same team of us who brought the BLF LT1 lantern to life will be doing it again for this smaller, more hiking-friendly version.

If it has a red light mode, I’m in.

I’m in, the teaser photo clinched it. Using the IF25 platform seems like a great idea.

I have the if25 and I really like the idea of a lantern based on that. If Anduril cannot be ported I think the stock UI ramping just needs some fine tuning. Reduce max output to something more sensible and add candlelight mode and that would be perfect mini LT1.

As a bonus those 3S aaa adapters fits and actually works nicely with the IF25 at lower modes. So an optional power source for emergencies and for those who are not comfortable with li ion batteries. I guess you just have to make sure nobody tries to charge aaas with the built in charging.

Interested in the 21700 version.

I really like the way the prototype is coming along. Exciting.
