Zebralight SC64c LE w/High CRI Nichia 219B R9080 $150

maukka, I’m a great admirer of your tests and measurements. I have a ZL sw35 on the way as well, and I’m thinking about battery choices and protecting the emitter. Have you done a tailcap current test at turn-on for H1?

Thanks,
Mike

Just wanted to bump the thread to say I am shipping lights from the latest batch now, so watch out for a shipping notice soon

Great news! Thanks for the heads up Bob.

Can’t wait!

Wow, Bob_McBob! I received my sw35. This is truly beautiful work that you do. My eyes tend to be drawn to flaws, but your work is immaculate! Thank you so much!

Do you have a beamshot of the dedomed LH351D?

I’ll try to take a comparison shot tonight or tomorrow. As a point of reference, the beam is tighter than the XHP35 HI in the SC64w HI because the die is smaller.

Speaking of the SC64w HI, the light on the left there is also modded with a high CRI LED. It’s a 4000K XHP35 HI which is closer to 4500K on turbo, and the tint is as good or better than the best stock SC64c LE (LH351D) samples I’ve tested. It also has a higher output at nearly 950 lumens FL1 (stock is about 1080, not the claimed 1300). I have more of these specific LEDs and I’m wondering if there would be any interest in me offering this mod in addition to the Nichia SC64c.

Wow, the drop in output from stock is very minimal! XHP35 HI is a great LED!

Did you ever get that beamshot of the dedomed LH351D?

If im looking for a throwier beam profile, the XHP 35 has a smaller die than the LH351D right? Should mean that it has a throwier beam profile?

Would a SST20 high cri be another option for a an even tighter beam that still has a decent CRI and output?

Shoot, I will get on that tonight when it’s dark!

I think the best way to answer this question would be to actually measure output and throw for each configuration so I can give you a table of objective data. In general, I would probably rate intensity LH351D—>XHP35 HI—>dedomed LH351D—>SST-20, with 219B in there somewhere in the middle. However, you have to take into account the different outputs since ZL drivers supply a fixed current no matter what LED you use, and of course differences in colour rendering and tint.

To answer your first question, LH351D has a smaller die than XHP35, it just tends to be floody because of the silicone dome. You can see an XHP35 HI beside a dedomed LH351D in my reply here.

Cheers Bob, much appreciated. I’m working out whether I want to get a LH351D or a 219B from you. So yeah, either way you’ll have an order from me sometime. (I know there’s some sort of delay in getting lights and making them - that’s all good.)

I’ve had a bunch of requests from people wondering how the 219B lights compare with other versions of the SC64 I’ve done. I promised to do a proper comparison, and I finally finished it. I’ve posted it over on Reddit for now because table formatting on BLF is a bit of a headache, but I’ll eventually transfer it over to this thread. I’ll also finally be doing comparison beam shots tonight!

big thanks

I received my SC64c LE with the 219b sw35 yesterday. Big THANKS BobMcBob, perfect job. :+1: :+1: :+1:
I’m still very excited and have to say, WOW, what a fantastic mod. I am very impressed with the light color and tint of the sw35, I like it much better than a SW45K in my other lights.
You brought back my love for the zebras that I have lost for some time.

This SC64c 219b sw35 has now replaced the D4V2 Ti SST-20 3000K in my pocket.
A zebra is back on its throne :sunglasses:

nice, nice.
any shots?
I am deciding on this or samsung LED.

thanks.

I’m really happy with the tint of the sw35 reel I’m using right now. Nicely rosy on all levels and just really pleasantly warm at night. I actually have the H1 measurement for your light handy.

CCT = 3423K (Duv –0.0047)
Color Rendering Index (Ra) = 95.9 [ R9 = 86.2 ]

For everyone with outstanding orders, it’s been a bit hectic here for obvious reasons, but please know I’m still working on getting everything out. I only have a handful of lights for new orders until I can get more from Zebralight, and I’ll be getting in touch with people who have already PMed me about them as soon as I can.

Stay safe, everyone.

thanks great bobsirbob.
