HT70-Lesson Learned-GRATEFUL FOR END RESULT

Yup, Iā€™ve suffered from the PayPal ā€˜just send it backā€™ BS, thankfully it was only once and banggood eventually made good. In most cases postage is far larger than the cost of the product in the first place.

Good luck with your task OP, hope you can get things sorted or modded with new LEDs. Stripping down the light and replacing emitters will also allow you to check/improve thermal paste etc, so is good in the long run.

.
Well stated Dale :+1:
I have purchased some Haikelite lights ( 3 and 1 on order ) with no problems. I like them because of their heat sinking bulk and I am prepairing to mod most of them. However, we fully understand how disappointing it is to get a light DOA, having experienced it also. I purchased a MT35 PLUS from Aliexpress and one of the quadrants on the led was dead, They wanted a picture of it but I shelved it for modding later. We do feel your frustration. :frowning: But try to
.

.

yes many factories build the light, and they got no quality control, a simple worker who plays with each light a few minutes can solve most DOA issues

Taking steps to assist in this matter, hopefully weā€™ll get this sorted out.

I want to thank EVERYONE for giving me information, insight[on PP/BG] and encouragement.

Thank you both for providing me with that. I am Hoping that PP does not decide that I have to ship the torch back for repair.

I simply will not do that based on principal and cost.

I went on USPS website and this is what it would cost for Flat rate priority mail. Keep in mind I could Not send the light with the box[too big 13ā€ x 6ā€ X 5ā€] with either option. I would have to take it apart,Two pieces, head and body.

Medium Flat rate Box to China-$77.50

Large Flat rate Box to China-$101.20

I am sure there is probably a cheaper way that would probably take 4 to 6 weeks to get there.

Bottom line is I will Not send this light back at my expense.I do not trust BG. I am not sending this back and waiting for them to fix or give me another light.

I have Faith in one of the many talented guys on here to fix my light.

A FULL refund would be great but I am not anticipating one.

In order, the only Three options I see:

1. Have a modder on here fix it.

2. Donate the light to MODern science

3. Toss the light in the trash out of frustration!

I am hoping for Option #1

Thank you. :sunglasses:

Here is a part of the manual.

WRONG! Photos below with tail cap taken off.Batteries must be inserted by unscrewing the head.Maybe more electronic components?

Manā€¦ Between this and the other guy who shall remain nameless, youā€™ve really had some bad luck.

Donā€™t give up on all Chinese lights entirely. There are some really good brands that put out excellent quality products for a very fair price. Convoy seems to be one of them. I recently had issues with an Astrolux groupbuy. Itā€™s been 2 weeks and Iā€™m still waiting on my refund through BG. Other than that all of my orders have been flawless. Iā€™m not too worried, if I donā€™t get my refund soon, Iā€™ll file a dispute with my credit union. Best of luck on your future purchases.

Thatā€™s close to my feeling as well. Many years ago I ordered some stuff from Kaidomain, it never came, they were zero help, and I was simply out the money. Ever since then I avoid ordering stuff shipped from China as much as possible. Sure, they may save me a few bucks on an item, but the tradeoff is a prolonged wait, uncertainty about when or if it will arrive, and knowing that if it doesnā€™t come (or itā€™s damaged) I will have a headache trying to get the situation rectified. That trade is not worthwhile in my estimation, unless itā€™s something I really want but cannot find elsewhere. I did make an exception and recently got an LT1 lantern shipped from China, but I ordered it on Amazon and I know how Amazon rolls with their CS; they would have quickly taken care of any problem.

Just my $.02 fwiw.

Welp...if it's #2 or 3, y'all come and see me first!

Good luck with it... thing that I wish for would be for more U. S. sellers to take up good Chinese lights so long wait times would be eliminated. Thank God for MTN.... at least that fixes my Emisar addiction!

Shouldnā€™t be too hard to find someone on here to fix it or even upgrade it for you. Sucks though, you definitely shouldnā€™t have to. I would look at putting in 4 dedomed xhp70.2s. That would be a beast of a light!

I used to buy a lot from BG / GB but after being burned with each I moved a lot of my purchases to Ali. There are a lot of issues with them but when they happen itā€™s usually easy to get a refund.

wow that sucksā€¦ but im not suprised HL havent showed much that they increase their qualityā€¦ if buy anything buy something cheap and not a light like thatā€¦ its probably poorly assembled and put togetherā€¦ good budget brands are convoy and sofirn those i trust more.

a light that size i would trust if Lumintop or even Sofirn / Convoy did instead based on their good reputation.

u have a right to get full refund nothing else, that is clearly visible on the photos what a garbage light u gotā€¦

Please PM your order number and E-mail address to me please, our CS will help you to solve the problem!

Sorry,Too late. Already did that several days ago and got the run around. I filed a dispute with Paypal.

I will Not discuss this matter anymore with you or your company. PAYPAL will resolve it.

anyway good luck

Re read my post #24.The directions they gave were Wrong. Separate body and head to insert batteries. You can see that from my photos.

Thanks for the good wishes

In my Post #14 I stated that Paypal will take care of me. Was I WRONG and you were right. Although I must say I was not that confident that I would get a refund with BG absorbing the shipping costs.

The Bottom line is Paypal wants me to: ā€œyou are responsible for any costs associated with the return.ā€

Light costs $140. Shipping costs=$77.50 which means I get $62.50!

I called PP and it was futile. I asked them WHY am I being penalized? All they did was apologize and say that was part of the policy,I think that is what she said. Hard to tell these days when 90% of the time when we call these big companies we never speak to an American. It is challenging to decipher and understand the accents and language barriers.

I filed a dispute with my Bank. My last resort. They helped me almost immediately when I had an issue with a seller several months back.Refund was given less than 24 hours.

My bank may be more helpful than PP. We will see.Worth a try.

I am GRATEFUL for the gentleman from Texas who offered to fix my light. He has lots of experience and talent. Without his help this light would be trashed or donated, something I did not want to do.I will reveal his name with his approval. He may not want to fix every ones light.

Life goes on, lessons are learned, will not be burned by BG anymore, good things are in store. The future is bright, especially when I get my new modified light, fixed by one of the best in the Lone Star State. Time to go I am running late. :sunglasses:

What about PayPals ā€ Return shipping on us ā€ policy. It should cover up to a certain amount last I heard.
