I also guess they used the FT02 XHP35-Hi driver for the FT02S XHP70.2, because I'm measuring only around 7 Amps max current on Turbo mode for the FT02S XHP70.2 (I don't have the FT02 XHP35-Hi on hand now for comparison though...)
The XHP70.2 LED will need more current supplied to reach the high lumens to make it really shine. At 7 Amps only, the XHP70.2 is barely as bright as an XHP50.2... and also produces a more floody beam.
Still on the fence about this one, but would like to ask my favorite question.
With the head size relatively large, did anyone measure the sustainable output? hoping it’s at least 2,500-3,000 lumens?
I was wondering what’s taking so long for the FT02 to arrive because others have already received a while ago. I found out BG refunded it without emailing me. I’m so glad because I don’t want this with all the problems reported. I guess BG realized they fked up on this.
Well, i was hoping for more than 1500 lumens. For example my MHVAST TS70 holds 1,700 lumens for at least 20 minutes before reducing further, and that’s only 33mm head. With the head diameter of nearly 60mm, i was certainly hoping for something upstream of 2,500 lm….otherwise what’s even the point of getting this light….it’s large enough and high output enough and looks nice but the battery is only 21700, so capacity is limited…if it could at least sustain higher lumen levels, it could be kinda attractive. Otherwise, there are smaller lights that will do the same job better.
