That’s close to my feeling as well. Many years ago I ordered some stuff from Kaidomain, it never came, they were zero help, and I was simply out the money. Ever since then I avoid ordering stuff shipped from China as much as possible. Sure, they may save me a few bucks on an item, but the tradeoff is a prolonged wait, uncertainty about when or if it will arrive, and knowing that if it doesn’t come (or it’s damaged) I will have a headache trying to get the situation rectified. That trade is not worthwhile in my estimation, unless it’s something I really want but cannot find elsewhere. I did make an exception and recently got an LT1 lantern shipped from China, but I ordered it on Amazon and I know how Amazon rolls with their CS; they would have quickly taken care of any problem.
[quote=gravel …only Three options I see: 1. Have a modder on here fix it. 2. Donate the light to MODern science 3. Toss the light in the trash out of frustration! I am hoping for Option #1 :D[/quote]
Welp...if it's #2 or 3, y'all come and see me first!
Good luck with it... thing that I wish for would be for more U. S. sellers to take up good Chinese lights so long wait times would be eliminated. Thank God for MTN.... at least that fixes my Emisar addiction!
Shouldn’t be too hard to find someone on here to fix it or even upgrade it for you. Sucks though, you definitely shouldn’t have to. I would look at putting in 4 dedomed xhp70.2s. That would be a beast of a light!
I used to buy a lot from BG / GB but after being burned with each I moved a lot of my purchases to Ali. There are a lot of issues with them but when they happen it’s usually easy to get a refund.
wow that sucks… but im not suprised HL havent showed much that they increase their quality… if buy anything buy something cheap and not a light like that… its probably poorly assembled and put together… good budget brands are convoy and sofirn those i trust more.
a light that size i would trust if Lumintop or even Sofirn / Convoy did instead based on their good reputation.
u have a right to get full refund nothing else, that is clearly visible on the photos what a garbage light u got…
what a weird light that needs a screwdriver to unscrew screws to insert batteries
what needs to be done to bring that light up so its working, do you need new leds? its a shame your in germany(edited USA) otherwise id try and help and replace leds if needed
hope you get it sorted
i had a bad experience from wish but it got dealt with and i got a refund. it didnt come with a usb charger even though it said it should of . i got a full refund
turns out the light was quite a bad one anyway
well igot 2x 26650 batteries out of the deal for free. the rest ofthe torch will get burnt to death in a vat of boiling piss
In my Post #14 I stated that Paypal will take care of me. Was I WRONG and you were right. Although I must say I was not that confident that I would get a refund with BG absorbing the shipping costs.
The Bottom line is Paypal wants me to: “you are responsible for any costs associated with the return.”
Light costs $140. Shipping costs=$77.50 which means I get $62.50!
I called PP and it was futile. I asked them WHY am I being penalized? All they did was apologize and say that was part of the policy,I think that is what she said. Hard to tell these days when 90% of the time when we call these big companies we never speak to an American. It is challenging to decipher and understand the accents and language barriers.
I filed a dispute with my Bank. My last resort. They helped me almost immediately when I had an issue with a seller several months back.Refund was given less than 24 hours.
My bank may be more helpful than PP. We will see.Worth a try.
I am GRATEFUL for the gentleman from Texas who offered to fix my light. He has lots of experience and talent. Without his help this light would be trashed or donated, something I did not want to do.I will reveal his name with his approval. He may not want to fix every ones light.
Life goes on, lessons are learned, will not be burned by BG anymore, good things are in store. The future is bright, especially when I get my new modified light, fixed by one of the best in the Lone Star State. Time to go I am running late. :sunglasses:
They will cover $30 maximum. The HELL with Paypal and the HELL w/ BG.
Still I would Lose $47 and wait, wait wait.
OR sink a little more money in the light, keep it, have it fixed and modified and it will be much better. I have total confidence and trust in the gentleman who is doing it.
To me it is a no brainer.
My bank helped me get a refund several months[in 24 hours] ago and I trust my bank for possible future issues.
I failed to learn my lesson 8 years ago with companies like T-Mart. I have Finally learned[my preference/my choice] Never to deal with any China based company and move on from Paypal that seems to cater to China,Maybe the Commies are running PP!
I want to thank DB Custom for fixing my light. He absolutely improved it. He fixed the shoddy work and replaced the 4 X SST-70 with Four brand new SST-70 that are a higher bin.He got 13,200 Lumens with 4 X BT 30Q charged to 85% capacity. With Eight fully charged 30Q BT the output will no doubt be higher.
He got the light today and already fixed it!
Here are some of his photos:
Like Dale said, looks like they got some shears to beautify these MCPCB’s
I think they had a worker “modify” their original light to use these emitters, the Luminus SST-70 which is new. Easy to miss a trick doing quads, it is what it is.
