That Tencent story is BS. I can’t believe how many people believe false news so easily.
The official numbers from China match the reported numbers from other countries (same ratio).
Even if we disregard that, why would the government give two sets of numbers to some media that is supposed to only show what they allegedly want? Doesn’t make any sense 
Yeah cus i mean china always tells the truth right? i am guessing you missed the part where they arrested and locked up the first doctors who tried to report it? and are also still arresting anyone who reports negatively or anything not vetted by their government first.
why would they have two sets of numbers, well they probably have the real numbers and a doctored figure they publish ?
The same level of suspicion can be applied to any country.
Look at the US trying to attack Iran for its oil, like it did with Iraq, they told the world the truth, right?
Or trying to force EU to accept their chemical chicken and saying it’s safe, even tho they don’t eat it and import chicken from Brazil.
Or Greece with its debt, Japan with its mass killing of whales and dolphins that reached to the point that they destroyed the ecosystem and the ocean is now filled with jellyfish.
Or Norway with their toxic fish.
Governments always report what’s in their interest, not the truth.
China would surely downplay this thing if it could, but they can’t, so I’m pretty sure the official numbers are real
I honestly don’t see how they can be when people are dying in their homes unrecorded, also they cannot record the death as this strain of Coronavirus without a test, they have openly admitted running out of the tests so the cause of death recorded as pneumonia & how many died before they could even be tested? how many are still dying at home trying to get hospital beds ?
I think you have to be nuts to believe that figure is accurate even if they are doing there very best to keep the figures true (which i highly doubt) i cant see it being possible with this current situation
You are talking about undocumented cases. How is China, or any other country suppose to count those?
Obviously those numbers include only confirmed cases, it clearly says on every site that display these stats. Of course that if you could include unconfirmed cases the numbers would be larger.

One thing to keep in mind about this comparison table is that the fatality rate for Coronavirus cannot be accurately assessed just yet since all of this is happening as we speak. Some of the infected will inevitably become dead, but it will take more time for this to happen. Maybe in a year, after it all blows over, we’ll be able to do a proper comparison.
And if you’ve quoted a contentious post that is later deleted, deleting the quoted copy would be a kindness to everyone.

I’d have to agree, also based on the size of the response we are seeing, building multiple hospitals , locking down entire cities , evacuating people internationally and quarantining them my hunch is that this is probably somewhere between Sars & Mers , I think the 2% figure is a little ridiculous as did the poor doctor who tried to blow the Whistle we won’t actually know for sometime like you said.
One source estimates that 25% of those who get infected will require intensive care, now if they actually get it many will survive, the problem however is that when you get to epidemic levels intensive care simply wont be available and those people will probably die. Source
My heart goes out for them it really does, those poor people trapped in Wuhan loosing loved ones not even allowed proper funerals its just awful. the would needs to help them beat this not simply evacuate there own

Li Wenliang did not invent the virus and saying he was killed rather than dying from it is a huge disservice to him and his family.
Perhaps you should edit your post to reflect that?
it just means that not only the elderly and weak and pre-ill hoomans are killed off but also the young and strong . it really depends on the course and severity of the infection .

I dont think anything is leaving china anytime soon, and ships are being refused docking if they have come from china, airfreight from any of the locked down provinces is not going to happen either
