ClipSwitch Flashlight - Giveaway (WINNER announced)!

You could modify a Stylus Pro or Stylus Pro USB exactly the same way.

Cool idea, very interesting

You could use some liquid electrical tape on the Stylus Pro tailcap, after sanding the threads down a little to make them looser, and get away with it for a while. Problem is there is no recharge port and taking the tailcap on and off will ruin the tailcap isolation. The Pro USB would work but you’ld have to move the pocket clip up (possibly requiring a pocket clip from a Microstream USB) making the light pretty long for sitting down in a pocket.

That’s a great idea! I like how you can still use the tail switch and have the clip switch. 300lm out of that and it’s something I’d definitely carry around.

Interesting and interested

Thanks Sirstinky! The average Microstream outputs around 50 lumens on low and 250 on high, but the black one I’m giving away just happens to be at 60 and 300.

Interested, thanks

I dont own any streamlight. Are they made in USA or in China?

They’re made in China. My favorite pen lights are their Stylus Pros. They’re cheap and pretty robust for what I use them for.

The only ones made in usa are the maglites… Or there are other ones made in usa??

Less than one week to post a great comment, video, or meme! On Saturday night I’ll pick my favorite one and the person who made it will win the blue ClipSwitch Microstream. After that, the drawing for the black one is random on leap day.

There are others such as some that Surefire makes and a lot of custom ones. I guess you could say the ClipSwitch Microstream USBs are made in China and modded in the USA.

And the finish of the mod looks “professional”… I mean… It looks as if it came that way from factory

Thanks samgalax. They aren’t perfect due to the industrial bead blast cabinet I use but they do look pretty good.

Ok. I want to see their look. If it is not perfect… It can be acceptable because of the function added. That is ok…

When evaluating switch kinds, you missed one that’s remarkably similar to your Clip Switch.
Nebo Poplite is magnetically attached to a keychain. When you pull it off - it lights up.

Ah, that’s a pretty neat design, Agro. Too bad it can’t be on while it’s attached to your keychain, but that would defeat the lockout benefit.

Remember that the clip switch can be clipped to any non-conductive material or to any pocket with no need for a magnet. In reality, the remarkably similar ones to my design are the cheap medical pen lights in which the pocket clips act as the switch. Those however don’t come on when you remove them from your pocket and you have to press the pocket clip down for activation…

I also missed the clap on/clap off and voice activation.

I’m not saying it’s the same. But it’s close enough to be worth mentioning. And it’s just as fast to use.

Would love to try one.

The contest for the blue Microstream ends tonight, folks! There’s still time to say or do something clever for a chance to win!
