Tacklife LFL3A $8.99

Seems like a failed product launch. It is a decent light but at soso price point originally, terrible marketing, since no one heard of it till now. If it is being sold for >$30, it had too much competition.

I gotta confess, I wasn’t interested with just vague “Wow, great light!”s flying around, but seeing the details, I’m sold. Just ordered a couple…

Looks like a nice clean beam (aside from the outer ring), especially the hotspot.

I can’t believe it. I ordered one without any clear idea of what I need it for. I must be an addict and need to find a support group to suppress these buying urges.

Then again this isn’t the first time I’ve done this

My light that came today had a little tiny amount of powder on the nipple of the battery. I was able to simply blow it off. There seems to be a tiny minuscule amount of hardened gunk just under the black wrap near that vented nipple. Does that seem okay? My other batteries don’t have that. Just this one and only a tiny little amount. But the battery took a charge and seems to be holding a charge fine.

Huh? :confounded:

Received mine today.

Very impressive that it comes in an attractive box that was sealed in a plastic wrap. The light feels and looks very good. A little concerned with the charging system, because of the potential wear and tear on the threads. Guess I just need to keep them well lubed. It tail stands, but it is not 100% stable. The clicky button, is ever so slightly proud, just barely enough to make the torch ever so slightly wobble. But really, just a nitpick.

It’s charging right now, so I will have to wait a few hours to use it. So far, it seems like a truly incredible deal, especially looking at whats out there in the sub-twenty dollar range. Then go one step further, and look at whats available for under ten bucks. The TackLife is crazy, crazy, craaaaaaaazy good.

I will order a couple more for gifts. I wonder if the LFL3A is being discontinued by TackLife, as it is not listed on their website even though the LFL3A has been around for about a year.

Good to hear Swabs, let us know how it shines. Mine doesn’t arrive until Tuesday. I’m hoping the UI is not like in the video, clicking through the modes to get to off. Either way, for $9 it can’t be bad.

There’s been a price increase and it’s up to $10.99 so with the 10% discount it’s now $9.90, not including state sales tax.

The OEM battery is still charging, so I threw in a Sofirn 26650 5000mAh cell.

The UI: I found that if I stay in a chosen level, for about seven seconds, one click turns it off. Less than seven seconds in a chosen level then I had to click through all levels to turn it off.

The button is on the stiffer side, compared to all the other torches I have used with a tail clicky. Hopefully it will soften a tiny bit over time.

Getting into strobe can be done from any light level, even from off by doing two full quick clicks. I didn’t always have luck getting strobe to work. I would say that I got into strobe seven out of ten tries. I’m sure I will get better at it with just a little more practice, and it might just be me, and nobody else has issues with it.

It is not dark outside yet, but indoor beam shots in a dark room show a good quality beam. Looks good.

No branding on the torch, just clean smooth lines. Now that I have a cell in it I did a tail stand, and yes it is wobbly. But, it did not fall over when I gave the desk a good shake.

The glass lens felt/sounded thick when I tapped on it. I have zero quality issues with this beauty budget light.

If you hold the button when on high it will go to medium and shut off, do not need to cycle.
From off hold for on, keep holding goes off. total time on about 1.5 second.

HTH

Thanks guys. Sounds good.

Got mine today. I read around 780 in my TA Lumentube, using an old 26650 cell. I measured again with a new Keeppower cell and got aroun 910.
No glue anywhere on my light. This will be a fun host to mod.

Would a simple emitter seap to an orsam or sst40 drastically improve the throw?

I am charging three of them as we speak, ha! Gifts for my nephews. One for myself. My wife got two for her brother and nephew. So we’re bought five already. Crazy!

Just got back from a walk, and I see now that there are a couple of ugly rings in the beam. Maybe I got a defective unit. The rest of the torch is sweeeeeet.

Decent amount of flood, and throw is really good. But I find the extra beam rings annoying. I might use this torch as a guinea pig to learn how to change LED’s. I’ve been curious about doing mods.

Just finished an analyzing run on my Liitokala 500, reported 5203 mah. So I ordered 4 more for misc. Christmas presents! Price went up a dollar, but still an awesome deal. I had to place the orders one at a time to get the discount.

What’s the IR on the battery?

Mine reads around 50mOhms AC

I just got mine

xpl w/dome led with a nice 4500-4900k tint.
Mesured exactly 1000lumens at turn on and 960 Lumens at 30 seconds. Great thermal behavior.

Weight is nice and hefty. couldnt tell if the NI40s heavier or this tacklife is.

Reflector is the same diameter as NI40 stalker just with a tiny bit less depth.

Battery is heavy! weighing in at 97.32 grams. I think that roughly 5 grams heavier then the Blk littokalla 5000mah 26650.

Thin threads on tail is the only con i see so far.

Conclusion: best 10 bucks i spent for a NI40 sized Flashlight

Can you separate the head of the light from the tube ?
