Massive post on where to get lithium-ion batteries everywhere in the world! Look at Post 2-5 for info, And Canada Post 123

@BlueSwordM Thanks for starting this thread. I’m just now finding it, but happy that I have made my last three purchases from vetted sources (USA). :+1:

I ordered two from him along with an NI40. UK law says it has to be in the device but Neal said he found a way to send it. Hopefully they arrive.

That black label Shockli is really only a 20A cell. Here is Mooch’s test.

Ok guys. Will be soon doing an update to this post with better formatting, easier searchability, and more battery sources!

Should be coming soonTM.

Are these Panasonic NCR 18650GA 30A 3.7V 3500mAh genuine?
If so, very good price.

Looks to me that the number of legs on the positive terminal is different from that shown on other websites such as Lion Wholesale.

^ +1

That’s probably a cell that has capacity equivalent to an NCR18650GA, but not internal resistance.

Its number of legs on the positive terminal is quite a bit higher than what’s found on an NCR18650GA.

Ok, thanks guys!

Following this thread , :+1:

Very likely same cells as used in some fake NCR18650Bs.

No markings on bare cells.

Look at that :open_mouth:
I’m on the hunt for genuine brand cells with good capacity and 10A continuous for 2 bucks a piece.
I have found them at i.e liionwholesale but they’re sold out.

Yeah,
The official flagship store of vapcell, vapcell and five major brands of li-ion and molicel batteries are all genuine guarantee

Just a note — Nealsgadgets doesn’t ship loose cells to the US anymore. The order will complete, and the money will transfer, but will go into indefinite limbo with no feedback as to why.

Tesla/panasonic are the same batteries?? :open_mouth:

Panasonic manufacture the batteries for Tesla. Not sure about all batteries but quite a few

Watch out for the newer LTO (lithium titanate) chemistry cells. There are good genuine Toshiba SCIB cells and genuine 66160 YinLong cells but also many poor quality pouch cells and 66160 cells that have been recovered, typically with other brand names such as GTK.
Now, GTK IS NOT a manufacturer, but a wholesaler of re-wrapped cells - these are sub-standard and often second hand. I purchased 100 X 66160 40ah LTO cells only to find out they were old used YinLong cells that were lucky to test out to 27amps and many fail to hold full charge. That was a $7,000 hit that Kevin Lee from Shenzhen Foxell Technologies Co., Ltd & Shenzhen Foxelion batteires Company Store on AliExpress sold me. The other was from the same store, 160 X 12.5ah LTO Pouch cells. They tested out to 10amps and 65 failed on their first use. I found the original manufacturer “Microvast” who stated these were “trash” waiting for recycling or disposale (obviously being sold out the back door). That was another $3500 hit to my pocket. Kevin Lee is denying these claims but completely unwilling to work with me on a refund or resupply of the correct cells. Be warned, DO NOT BUY FROM the Shenzhen Foxell Technologies Co., Ltd & Shenzhen Foxelion batteires Company Store on AliExpress! …that is unless you like trowing your hard earned cash down the drain?

You often get what you pay for.

I see too many people bypass my store to save a couple $$ only to end up disappointed. Just recently a customer purchased 400 Chinese cells which he thought was a better deal then my price, ended up 1/4 the claimed capacity. He’s building e-bike packs for his customers, thought he would have known better

Can you add my store please for New Zealand

I use a CBA to test every batch. I check everything physically and also test resistance.

I’m pretty sure I’m the only seller in NZ that checks every batch with a CBA, most shops just take suppliers at their word

Added.

Much appreciated
