I denied it. What i want instead is updated driver, i’ll do the swap.

@freeme : would you be so kind and step into?

Their second response was a 10.00 refund, I responded with a NO, not acceptable, I want a full refund!!

And this us another response...

So what are you going to do ? chance it and have them send you a replacement or ask for a refund ?

I just need a driver, nothing else...

u need a working light id30209

Not another one, just a driver.

Received a message yesterday , saying that they are sorry for not being able to respond in time, but would I please contact them on Sunday.

Kudos to Banggood, they are issuing a refund, received the message this morning !!!

And i’m getting replacement. I asked for driver but they didn’t specify anything

Guys, those who are happy with the light, can you share more details about it? Beam profile, sustainable lumen level, time in turbo before the output starts dialing down? Any other impressions? I am on the fence about ordering one. Thanks!

Dammit I rather they fix the driver, put in USB-C instead of sending refunds. I want this light for use with the GT-FC40 emitter!

I just got BG info about new shipping. Not sure if they are sending me new driver or another FT02 2020.

I’ll let you know when it gets here.

Sorry, I just saw your driver replacement request. Do you want me to find out what BG sent to you?

If you could check what's in the mail that would be great.

Thx!

Is there a youtube video on how to fix the ASTROLUX FT02 XHP70.2 issues. I want to try my first DIY torch fix, using the FT02 XHP 70.2.

I ordered one because it allegedly was upgraded to fix, and I quote: “XHP70.2 version improved the circuit, and the weakness will disappear. such as breathing lamp power consumption; charging current increased from 1A to 1.4A”
, but my unit won’t go into turbo or high level, so the max brightness is well below 1,000 lumens. The torch shuts off while I am ramping through the levels or when I double click trying to find turbo, and won’t turn back on until I loosen the tail cap all the way and re-tighten it.

I love the style and size of the FT02, it is a beautiful torch. It is one of my favorite looking flashlights, but it has more than its share of problems internally.

I need step-by-step instructions on how to change out the defective parts.

Freeme, can you find out from BG what is going on with all these problems with this light? It has so much potential and Im anxiously waiting for a truly fixed version before I buy.

What battery did you use?

Usually when something like that happens (“torch shuts off while ramping through the levels or double-click to Turbo”), if it were other flashlights, I would suspect a protected battery was used, and the current was tripped by the protection circuit. But the FT02 can fit unprotected 21700 batteries (not protected 21700s) only, unless you tried to use protected 18650s?

Also, in my limited experience, having a loose contact somewhere can cause similar types of issues (ie. high current cannot pass through if the contact points are loose somewhere, or are dirty, essentially preventing higher current to pass, and which may cause the shut-off issue)…

But then again, it might also be a real factory defect… but let’s rule out the other possible variables first.

I used a Samsung 50E 21700 unprotected cell. I bought this cell within the past six months from Liion Wholesale. I also tried a Sofirn 4000 mAh 21700 unprotected cell. There was no difference between the two batteries when used in the FT02.

Other than twisting off the tail cap and head part, and inspecting the tail spring, and head unit, I don’t know how to check for loose contacts internally.

I will ask again. However, i believe priority will only be given to upcoming and best sellers right now.
