My other Addiction

This is my other hobby.....i have been doing this for more years then i can remember. Love to tinker and it helps to get rid of stress. These are my two favs for carpet track racing. Top is my Xray M18 and at the bottom is my Pro Recoil.

Nice what shells have you got for them?

P.s i thought you were going to post pics of a load of ghosts :-)

Cool! Battery powered or IC engine?

I only deal with battery now.....back then i was very heavily into nitro racing but spent more time tunning the engine carb and spending mullah on gas then having fun. The first pic is my Nissan R390 which i had a painter do for me......all i asked him was to paint the flilipino flag on the sides. In the second pic are my 2 Mazda 6 bodies.

I have a lot more bodies but these are the ones i like to use the most.

Cool toys Alfred. I have a couple of Duratrax Thunder Quake 4x4 rc nitro trucks that I haven't used in years. They're basically cool looking dust collectors. lol I played with them alot when I lived in Alaska but forgot about them since moving to Hawaii 7 years ago. Maybe it's time to try and get them running again.

That or put them on ebay and get something updated.....i doubt the parts would be easy to find now. I tried getting into trucks......my first experience was the Savage that a buddy of mine let me play with......i loved it but for me it was hard to control, the tires kept ballooning.

I don't think I'll get much for them because I just looked at one and most of the exposed metal parts are all rusted. Probably because of all the salt in the air which is the price we pay for living in Hawaii. It doesn't help either for them to sit on a shelf for 7 yrs. I'll have to save up for a while to afford new ones but it might be even longer since I plan on buying a few flashlights first. lol

Yes i hear ya on that man......well i guess its time to bust out the tools and get cleaning. Does the truck still roll when you push it.....i would think that the bearings would be rusted and seized by now. lol

I just dusted it off and rolled it around.....so far so good. I'm also taking a few pics for you to see.

Here are a few pics I just took. You can see all the rusted parts but it stills rolls smoothly. I had to pry the rusted 9v battery off and replace it to see if the head and brake lights still worked. I'll have to look for the battery packs which are probably useless anyway being that they haven't been used in 7 yrs. Oh well....

Wow, for not being used for 7 years it still looks great, a little time for cleanup and i bet it will be working like a champ. Might want to replace the glow plugs and start soaking the rusted parts in rust remover. Hey would you be able to post some pics with the lid off, what size is the engine.

It looked pretty dirty at first but I spent about 15 minutes wiping off the plastic body. It's only a .21 - 2-Stroke but when I bought it back in 2002-2003, it was one of the bigger and badder engines. It's probably tiny compared to the newer ones that are being sold today. How big are your engines and how fast do they go?

Mines all electric now......i used to race my Nitro TC3 back in the day. It came stock with a .15 changed that out to a Novarassi .12 because of the higher rpms for the straight. I sold that sucker for 360 bones which had the carbon fiber upperdeck and aluminum bottom chassis. It had about every hopup out there. Dont miss nitro though since they were a pain to clean up when the fun was over.

I know what you're saying about cleaning up after. We used to spend more time cleaning up after compared to the time we spent playing with them. lol But then again we we out in the gravel and dirt hills close to where we worked. We worked in a huge warehouse so when the weather was crappy or it was winter time, we would clear some space with forklifts and run our trucks. Man, I miss all that fun me my my rc buddies had back then.

Hey you can start it back up again man......just clean that sucker up and install a new glow plug and let er rip.......When your at work and on your lunch break just bust it out and in no time you will get other co-workers joining in as well.
