Led4power.com : LD-4 CC linear drivers, ILC-0/1 illuminated tailcaps, optics, MOSX, copper DTP MCPCBs...

I have a convoy S2+ that I was trying to put one of the RGB tail caps in. I have 3 of them and I tried the switch in all of them. And the convoy with the H17F Dr Jones driver is the only light that it sort of works in. Except the RGB doesn’t stay on. It flickers for a second and then stays off. It didn’t work at all in the other 2 convoy’s.

I know ILC-0 RGB works with LD-x4 driver, I can't guarantee for other drivers, especially since they usually even don't have proper bleeder (RGB is power hungry compared to single colors).

That’s ok, not a big deal. I’ll just a build with that driver! Soon as I figure which one to build…

When will the Luxeon V 4000K be in stock again?

I'm not sure. There is also 3000K "available" (3month lead time) and price is higher, but it looks interesting. If there is enough interest I would try to get 3000K first (mixing with 5700K in quads/hex would give very nice ~4300K tint, maybe even/probably under BBL).

What’s the CRI on the 3000K Luxeon V you are looking at?

70CRI, but if tint is anything like 4000K (and I believe it is even better/closer to BBL since low CCT LEDs tend to be closer to BBL in general), it would still look great with crazy output.

That is good news. The 4000K Luxeon V has one of my favorite Non-90CRI LED tints. Hope you can get a few for us warm tint fans!

+1 for 4000K Luxeon V

Luxeon V2 5000K >>> Luxeon V 4000K >>> Luxeon V2 3000K

You gotta love these leds

Thank you for the answer, led4power.

I’m sure tint mixing with 3000K and 5700K would look great. Recently I did a lot of tint mixing in multiple led flashlights. But the 4000K Luxeon V would still be needed for single led flashlights.

Neven,
I’m thinking about modding a C8 with one of my UV leds. They run upto 3A @ 4.8V.
Would an LD-A4 be a good fit for running the emitter at full power from a single decent 18650?

Wow. Those tints do look great. Hmmm…

UV LEDs generally (especially <385nm) have very high Vf so linear drivers are not good fit for that purpose.

Thanks. I’ve apparently missed that this driver was a linear driver. Revisiting the product page and the PDF i can clearly see it now. Even the name suggested that
I guess I will have to find a boost driver.

Boost is not good too, you'll need buck-boost since LED voltage can be lower than full battery (4.2V). Other option is to use two cells in series (18350/CR123) + linear or buck driver.

Thanks alot. I don’t want to hijack your thread, but can you point me towards some good drivers? A single mode full power boost driver would be okay

It's best for you to open new thread, some BLF members are better informed regarding Chinese boost drivers.

They are indeed!
The ones I like the most are the 4000K Luxeon and the 3000K Luxeon V2. Actually I am thinking about getting a triple of 3000K of these
It is a very pleasant beam and tint! I guess Luxeons will be, after all, my favourite Leds

Osram CSLPM1.TG (aka white flat 2) is now available in higher 6P flux bin, that should be about 10% brightness increase compared to 5P (according to datasheet and previous measurements - about 1800lm @ 7.5Amp):

16mm DTP boards are out of stock, new batch of gen2 boards are expected by the end of March ( about 1.5 month later than planned because of virus thing).
