If I listed all of my favorite movies, it would be a really long and boring list, so I post about the last movie I saw in the appropriate thread.

A must watch for any Flashlight fan

I like film, almost to the exclusion of radio and TV. There’s a lot of movies that rank #1 for me personally. In the hundreds. Depends on mood at the time. If I watch Cuckoo’s Nest in a certain frame of mind, I don’t care for it… Remember “Dr. Sardonicus?” There’s a lot of B and C movies that are number one now and then. It is quite impossible to call one film an everyday favorite. It’s kind of like trying to pick out a favorite flashlight. I can, but tomorrow it may be different.
I saw Jojo Rabbit (2019).
I love this movie.
You have to know what happened in World War II to fully appreciate the film, but if you do, it's a real treat.
The music is great, and the acting superb.
The script is amazingly good, and the movie is very funny and has heart.
If you don't know already, the director adapted the screenplay, played the role of Hitler, and is Jewish.
He's directed some other great movies including Eagle vs Shark and Thor: Ragnarok.
His portrayal of Hitler is done really well, though he didn't really nail the mustache.
Of course that's just a minor detail.
I saw it last weekend. I have mixed feelings about it. I think it was a gutsy, artistically bold and creative movie to put together. I can’t fault the quality of the acting, filming and direction. Maybe it’s because I’m a student of history, and WW2 history in particular, that I had difficulty laughing at the portions of the film at which I was supposed to laugh. Maybe I have known too many people with numbers tattooed on their forearms to be entirely happy with the way any kooky comedy about genocide is put together.

Regarding Jojo Rabbit:
I know about the atrocities of war, but I also do not take life too seriously, and I can find humor in even the darkest of situations.
I thought the movie handled the material very well, though not everyone enjoys everything.
I always liked “Hogan’s Heroes”…
Monty Python & The Holy Grail
I saw Summer of 84 (2018).
This movie is amazing.
This horror mystery has a lot of great suspense.
Much of the movie is Hitchcockian, though updated for modern times.
The ending of the movie is just perfect.
The music is excellent, and the acting is good.
I wasn't expecting such an enjoyable movie, and it was a nice surprise.
